I watched them all work and build up their case for five days straight. Not only was it hot watching my girls take charge, but I realized just how smart everyone in this house really is. I was of no help to them, so instead of taking up space, I was in the kitchen with Nevada.
"I can't believe how intelligent they all are. Everything I thought of saying would have sounded stupid and unnecessary" she said with her head on the counter
"I want to say something that will make you feel better but I felt just as dumb as you in there" I said checking on my lamb stew
"At least you guys had something to add, I didn't know what they were talking about half the time" Nicollet said with a big pout
"Don't feel too bad guys, at least we can cook" Elizabeth said making us chuckle
"I can't even cook" Nevada said with her hands in the air making us laugh while Gavin chuckled in the corner with his newspaper.
After feeling sorry for ourselves, they helped me finish up dinner and set up the table. I had Nevada drag them all out of the office while we went to eat outside near the small fire ma insisted on making herself... well Scarlett is somewhat helping her collect sticks.
"Where is everyone going?"
"To bond" I replied
"We want to bond too" Angelo said
"None of you are invited" I said with ma and my plate in my hand
"Even me?" Dom asked making me frown before smirking
"None of you are invited, I didn't make the rules" I said then walked away joining everyone.
"Why is my husband pouting?" ma asked when I sat down making all of us turn to see him pouting at the door
"I told them none of them were invited" I said making everyone chuckle, ma blew a kiss at him and then shouted telling him to close the door. We laughed at this and we properly introduced ourselves to our guests.

"I swear I nearly killed him when I found out he was in the mafia" ma said telling us all about how she met her husband
"Wouldn't his men have killed you if you did that?" Nicollet asked wearing the same amused smile we all had listening to how chaotic their relationship has always been
"I gave zero f-booms back then. I remember when his father and I had guns pointed at each other's faces because someone ate the last slice of mama's chocolate bar cake" she said then sighed happily looking into space
"Turns out that idiot I married ate it and he had to run around the neighborhood naked as punishment"
"What?" I said then laughed along with everyone else
"To be young again" Gavin said making ma scoff
"Oh please, you still look great" she said making him chuckle and wipe the juice falling down Scarlett's cheek as she chugged her drink
"Damn lil mama" Elizabeth said making me smile at how comfortable she has become with us
"Now, let's talk about my big brother's embarrassing stories" Nevada said and I clapped my hands
"Alright, that's a wrap ladies and gentlemen" I said making them chuckle but Nevada proceeded to tell them all about my nerdy awkward teenage years.
It was hella embarrassing how much she knew about me and I was blushing so hard I thought I would pop, but seeing everyone laugh at her imitation of me made me smile. It wasn't until my baby sister started talking that I realized my childhood wasn't all that bad whenever she was around. The more she spoke, the more it occurred to me that I have no bad memories whenever she was around, I don't remember not laughing when she was with me, and I remember how proud she was that I was her brother growing up, it kinda makes me regret leaving directly after high school.
