Zero POV

"The Draki Rings." said Kaito, looking at Zero's arms. "I see you've begun using it.  Your parents tried to use its power once."

The grief Zero had gone through was over and killing a wraith would make him feel ten times better

He had been waiting to confront the murderer of his parents. All the anguish he had to hide behind a goofy personality had been unleashed. The thunder roared in the sky, clearing the clouds away.

Three lightning bolts struck at Kaito. He caught the other one with his hand and the other cut through the side of his arm.

"That was an excellent throw, boy."

Zero's hefted his fist and amplified the other lightning that fell on Kaito's side. The sparks waved around him with enough force to almost knock him.

With a sharp laugh, Kaito thrust the lightning back at Zero. He shielded himself but it was too late.
He was sent skittering across the rooftop. He heard Ice scream. However, Kaito used the spark to imprison Ice around it.

Zero felt the pain in his right arm. Like needles stabbing into his nerves. He dropped to his knees and the other three rings flew through Kaito's arm.

"You've become an inconvenience for us, Hizumi." said Kaito.

The Darkfold floated towards him and he began to chant in a language Zero hadn't heard before. The power of the Darkfold was nefarious. The way its twisted transition does to its holder. The way they chased after what they desire most.
It turned them into monsters.

For a moment nothing happened; then Zero saw the air shimmering, like the surface of the sea does. No. No this can't be good. An unsettling dread came to him.  A flash of light nearly blinded Zero when the portal opened.

And then Arisu stood next to Zero, merging out of the portal.

"Kaito." He said. "You have the rings."

"My lord." Kaito bowed.  "I thought you would send  an army."

"They'll be here once we have fully opened the portals." Arisu had no resemblance to the other wraiths. His skin was pure silver, like metal. Though his eyes were white, his face was not Zero had expected.

There was a scar sliding down from his forehead down to his cheeks. Arisu had a face of a priest, with calm eyes.

Kaito sighed. He held up his arm and the rings out for Arisu to take.

"You can't rule this world!" Zero hissed.

Arisu finally met Zero's eyes. He gave him a pleased smile. "Of course, I can, and I can give you what you want, not any of the wizard magic can do. So, what do you desire most, Zero?"

Zero had thought of bringing back his family.

"Zero, don't listen to him!" Ice shouted. Kaito stood next to the cage, trying to stay out of the god's way.

"And if I say nothing?"

"Nothing?" Arisu said, his tone laced with amusement. "A wizard who doesn't have a desire. That's odd. I know what self-deception looks like, Zero. You want to bring back your family. You and Chi convinced the Hex user to open portals, which he shouldn't have done."

"My desire isn't bringing them back." Although grief was always fresh in Zero's heart, he accepted that they were long gone. "I've accepted their deaths."

"Then shall I destroy you first, Hizumi?" Arisu smiled and a sword emerged from his silver hand.  Arisu came to him like a whirlwind. He summoned a lightning bolt and slashed it at Arisu. Kaito was about to attack Ice until Zero intercepted.

He freed him by stealing the other bolt. Ice did the rest by using an ice sword. He and Kaito started to fight. Zero focused on the god. He jumped over Arisu's head as tendrils of silver shot in all directions.

One hit Zero's arm. Ice saw his chance. He kicked Arisu in the face. Then he summoned three white spikes, hurling it over him. Arisu rose to his knees. His eyes fixed at him. He clutched his hands around Ice's neck.

"This one, is what you desire," Arisu said sweetly. "The pain of hiding unrequited feelings. Love is pain. Choose love and you suffer."

Then without second thoughts, Zero charged at him. He brought down the lightning bolt on Arisu's neck. It should've killed him but the lightning shattered. . Zero fell back. The shards of lightning ricocheted to the sky.

The silver sword was raised and it plunged into Zero's stomach.

Thomas POV

Thomas saw Kong and Third trying to capture Chi at the edge of the rushed towards Arthit, who was battling Psychlocke.

"Get Chi!" Tine rushed at Thomas. "I could restore his state."

"Restore his state?" Thomas asked, confused.

"I could retrieve the poison in his mind. Hex users are able to do that."

"You mean cure him?"

Tine nodded--
A roar erupted from the side. There were many skeletal armies charging at him. Arthit levitated and shot balls of celestial magic at them. Red energy hummed around Tine's hand and his fingers moved like spider legs. The hex magic coursed through the skeletal army, disintegrating their bones.

Thomas hrew several orange disks at Psychlocke. Catching his attention, Psychlocke flew down and his sword struck at Thomas's shield.

Something moved behind Psychlocke; it was Chi. He was coming for Nan.

"Nan!" Thomas shouted.

Nan POV

Chi lunged at Nan, knocking him out to the ground. One moment they were on the ground, the next they were flinging out fists of black fire and sun magic. Nan could not look to see Cain's reaction.

Nan could feel his bones burning, the clash was intense. Startled by how fast Chi could disappear right in front of his face, he took the upper hand, he kicked Nan from his back.

"Have you become foolish, Nan?" Chi asked as he leaped onto a nearby stone bench. "Or it's just the fact that you're fighting someone you used to love."  His laugh strained with dark delight.

Cain's gaze flicked over at Nan first then rested now at Chi. "You can't do that, Chi. As long as you are under control. You are not free."

"Let him go!" Nan sneered. "He's not a part of you!"

"Shut up." Both of them were surprised when Chi spoke again. His hands covering his ears. "Shut up! Shut up! Shut up!" He raised his hand to toss a fireball at Cain. He was screaming while he kept on shooting.
What the hell was going on?

"Chi, no!" Cain was pushed towards the edge.

Chi summoned a huge fireball and he threw it at Cain. He didn't anticipate this one. The magic was too strong, Cain was thrown away from the building.

"He was annoying. " Chi said.

Nan looked over at Tine, who was also looking at him, as if it was a signal to tackle Chi down.

"You what I hate most about hex users?" asked Chi, also having to get the point. "They think they're the most sturdy creatures. But they're not." He hurled a fireball at Tine.

He immediately jumped to the side, dodging the dark flame.

"You were wrong about being a hero, Nan" Chi said to Nan. "You think you could lead the wizards, like Kong Marvel. But you...you're just in line for your own demise. I can see you struggle all the time. You cannot right the wrongs if the people choose what they want."

Nan thought about all the casualties from the previous wars. All the people that have lost their loved ones. "You're right. I cannot change it." He said. "But there's nothing wrong in trying."

His fists glowed. Nan bellowed, and the light exploded Chi away.
