Trick or Treating (Aster's route part 1) (page 2)

Aster turned right to Sunshine Street and knocked on each door. Most of the residents were scared when they opened their doors not because of Aster's realistic costume, but because Aster has a long history of committing crimes such as arson every Wednesday night. After going to each house on Sunshine Street, he took a left and went to Chemical Road. Nobody was scared of Aster on Chemical Road since the residents of Chemical Road had just moved from various towns and states, so they had no clue who Aster Everlocke was.

Aster looked into one house that wasn't lit up at all, and saw someone staring back at him when he peered into the window. Aster jumped back a little and turned away to continue on his quest. Once on Willard Block, he scanned around for his friend Aven. Aven was a friend he made a few months ago when Valentina and Aven's mom, Christina, arranged a "play date" for each other. Valentina felt bad about how some of Aster's only friends were Jelly and everyone in the Everlocke home, so she did what she could. Ever since then, Aster and Aven have been good friends.

Aster couldn't find Aven anywhere, so he continued his route. After visiting Demonic Lane, Orange Western Avenue, and Broken Dreams Boulevard, he began to walk towards Valentina's car. He was taking a shorter alternative route to Valentina's car, where he could get more candy. Though, when he was on Merriweather Lane, he saw a strange figure in a alleyway. He got closer to the figure and saw that it was Aven's dead body. Aven was stabbed and bled out in the alleyway. Aster began to cry after realizing that Aven was dead. Aster began to run around the streets while crying. West rights, east lefts, north downs, and south ups were what Aster wasn't paying attention to, so after 30 minutes of running around, he got lost.

Aster didn't know what to do. He looked at the street sign and saw that he was on Verse Boulevard. He looked around and saw that this was a part of town he hadn't ever been to. Most of the houses were boarded shut, the street lights flickered every few seconds, and most of the roads were dead ends. Aster was scared and didn't know what to do. He just sat down on the curb and cried.
