Mary was dropped off at the house listed on the party invitation. Mary was confused on why she got invited here in the first place. She hadn't made any friends in Shadewood excluding the Everlockes. Maybe someone saw her on some list of Shadewood citizens and invited her out of sympathy. She couldn't come out with a proper conclusion, but she didn't care. The only reason she came to this party anyways was because she needed to get out of the Everlocke home. She was starting to sense something horrible from the home, and she couldn't stay there any longer tonight. Even though she was going to return to the home in a few hours, it felt nice to finally be out of it.

She walked up the stairs on the front porch of the house and rang the doorbell. She waited patiently a few minutes. She was about to turn around and leave when the door opened. It was opened by her old friend, Lindsey.

"Lindsey? Oh my, I haven't seen you in forever!" Mary said as she hugged Lindsey.

"It has been forever Mary. Also, the grapevine told me that you came over to Shadewood a while ago. I missed you so much! I'm so glad to see you again Mary! Wanna get something to drink? The poolboy just brought some fruit punch. " Lindsey said.

It was true, it had been a while since Mary had seen Lindsey. Lindsey was one of Mary's old friends from France. Lindsey and Mary met inside a forest when Mary got lost. Mary and Lindsey had been friends since that point. Though, once Mary moved to Shadewood, her and Lindsey lost contact with each other. Mary truly missed Lindsey, and Lindsey missed Mary. Lindsey found out that Mary lived in Shadewood because she saw her at the Shady Everything StoreTM. Lindsey though didn't approach Mary since it seemed like Mary was busy. Mary was indeed busy since she was planning what to make for the Everlockes to eat for dinner that day.

Anyways back to the story, Lindsey let Mary inside the house. Inside the house was just your average Halloween party. There was Halloween music playing, random kids running around, white girls dressed up as m&ms, and a movie room where Halloween movies were playing. Mary and Lindsey began to catch up with each other about everything going on with their lives. Mary noticed that the poolboy began to act strange as her and Lindsey had their conversation. Mary just brushed it off though.

After a few hours, the party was slowly becoming more and more alive. Flashing lights were everywhere, more people filled the room, and everything seemed like a strange dream. The poolboy appeared out of nowhere and suddenly hugged Mary.

"Listen to me. Once I let go of you, begin running as fast as you can. Make sure it doesn't catch you." The poolboy whispered to Mary.

Once the poolboy had let go of Mary, she began to run. She didn't know what she was running from, but she ran. She ran as fast as she could for a while. She began to slow down when she heard growling. She didn't dare look back, so she just continued on with running. She ran until she reached a hallway. The hallway was a long and narrow hallway with many doors. Mary went through the fifth door she saw and locked herself in there. Inside the room was a tired poolboy, who has stopped to catch his breath.

"WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?" Mary screamed out. She was completely confused and wanted answers.

"I believe it's only tradition."

"WHAT DOES TH-" Mary cut her sentence short in order to catch her breath. She ran for so long, so she was out of breath. She didn't even know herself how she was able to run for as long as she did.

"Well, this house is known for hosting a party every year. Every time there's a party here, someone's consumed by the house. They're called 'The Souls of Alexandria'. Why do you think I'm here? " The poolboy replied in a calm voice.

" What do you mean? "

"Well, think my friend. Why would there be a poolboy in autumn?"

Mary thought for a bit and realized that the poolboy was one of the trapped souls. He was probably trying to save her from the house.
