I woke up with a pain aching in my nose I touched it slightly wincing

"Son of bitch" I heard finney swear

I looked towards him seeing his nose was bleeding and there was a small little bruise of the side of his eye.

"Finney are you ok?" I asked touching his face lightly

"Think the real question is, are you ok? Both your nostrils are bleeding out and there's a small bruise on your cheek." He said wiping my nose showing my the blood

"Same with you though" I said shrugging

"I can't believe I let my fucking guard down I didn't want to get my hopes up but I did." I groaned angrily rolling my eyes

"I feel-" I started but Finney finished for me

"Hopeless? Yeah me too" he sighed as well.

And of course not a minute later the phone rang

"No" Finney said through clutched teeth

"Fuck you" he said firmly. I was surprised at his language since I've never heard him swear a lot.

"Goddamn it" he mumbled getting up. He picked up the phone sitting himself back down.

"What? You gonna say something?!" He grouched.

"Do you even know who you are!" He angrily argued again

I sat beside him looking at his intense face.

It dropped after hearing mumbling over the phone, who could it be?

"I'm Finney Blake." He spoke breathily
All I could hear was mumble mumble mumble.

"This is what?" He spoke fast

"Holy shit...your Vance hopper." He said turning towards me.

Wait what the fuck did he just say. My mouth opened slightly revealing my two front teeth distraught.

"You used to scare me" Finney said not taking his eyes away from my presence but I didn't return the favor. I just sat there staring at the wall I mean wouldn't you? I just found out my brother is speaking from the dead to my best friend on the phone.

But the words dead just kept ringing in my ear. He's dead. I felt a tear roll down my cheek, since when did I get soft?

I heard more mumbling over the phone and Finney answering but I wasn't paying much attention.

"We've tried everything" I heard from Finney but I was in a haze so it was all a bit mumbled

I shook my head to get me out of the zone to see Finney looking towards the wall now

"What did you do?...what did you do?!" He said more stern the next time which isn't a smart move especially with my brother

I could hear yelling through the phone. Thats definitely vance.

"No, no, no, no I'm listening" he said getting up

"And then out to the storage room" Finney said nodding his head understanding.

"Thank you"

"For helping me?"

I could hear more yelling from the phone but it then slowly calming down.

I watched as Finney turned around towards me taking the phone off his ear. He nodded as I took the phone.

I stood up as Finney sat back down changing our positions.

"Hey.." I spoke quietly

I heard a sigh over the phone

"Really shitty seeing you down here you know that right" my brother spoke. I've missed his voice.

"Yeah..."

"Didn't use your protecting skills I taught you aye? Disappointing" he sighed

"Neither did you though...I miss you." I sniffled

"Don't got soft on me el" I heard him snicker

"Shut the fuck up" I said with attitude as I leaned up right against the wall.

I heard him laugh which made me smile.

"You know what would make me really disappointed" he said

"What?" I replied

"If you started screwing that dork over there" he sassed

"Ew what the fuck vance no, I'm literally 13" I said glancing toward Finney who had a confused face

"Aye we all start somewhere am I right?"

"Just stop talking" I laughed

"Hey but real talk...I'm sorry for leaving you with yonis..I know he's a dick" he said sighing

"Yeah, he hasn't changed at all since you left. Still the same old hag." I rolled my eyes

"Your nose ok?" He asked

"Yeah- wait..how do you know about my nose?" I asked out of curiosity since non of us told him.

"I'm standing right beside you" he said Offaly scary

"Wait what-" I said mumbling

"I've been here with you this whole time, we all have." He said

"Wait so you saw-" I said talking about Finney and I cuddling and me crying basically all the shit that's been going on down here.

"Yes el, we saw everything"

"Promise your gonna get out of this shit hole for me ok? And when you do you'll play pinball and beat my high score? Someone's gotta do it" he said

"Yeah vance. I promise." I laughed

"Good now do what I just told your lover too"

"Vance it's not like that-" I said getting cut off

"Yeah yeah whatever...it's time though, I've gotta let you go." He said as I could hear him clearing his throat. There was a short pause before any of us spoke.

"Bye big brother." I said with a small smile escaping my lips

"Bye little sis" I heard his stern voice speak. I looked over to my left to see a small outlines figure of his body and blonde fluffy hair right beside me but it slowly faded away.

I heard the phone muffle indicating no one was there anymore. I really needed that talk with him. I hung up the phone standing in front of Finney.

"Cmon what'd he tell you to do" I asked shrugging

Finney got up going out to the toiled and picking up the cover on the top.

"He said there's a big freezer that leads into the storage room so we're gonna have to break open the wall and get into the freezer and break out." Finney said like it was no one's business

I nodded in response
"Wait how am I supposed to help?"

"Take turns? I'll go first" he said leaning down towards the wall

"Alright" I said as he started to hit the wall multiple times with the toilet cover you could see some concrete from the wall chipping off.
