Chapter 1 Meeting Eren Jaeger

//Annie POV//

"I'm off to school." The now 16 Annie muttered as she looks over at the kitchen to see her father cooking up a meal.

"Off to school?" her father asked. Annie nodded yes and grabbed her backpack. "Stay safe."

"Whatever..." she said under her breath.

She opens the door and didn't bother to close it behind her. She signs as she watched from across the street to see a girl wave goodbye to an older woman, possibly her mother. She continues to watch as the girl ran to a car waiting for her and another girl on the driver seat. She crossed the street and looks away from them. But right before she made it to the sidewalk, she heard the honking of a car and stop right in front of her.

"Need a ride?" it was the same girl she watched walk out from the house.

"Huh?" Annie didn't think she heard her right.

"I always watch you walking late to school so I figured you want a ride to get to school faster. You have the same uniform as me so that means we go to the same school." The girl explained. She opened the door and pulls her seat forward. "Hop in!"

"Ok..." Annie said as she throws her backpack on the back seats and got in.

"Name's Christa Lenz...and that's Ymir!" Christa shouted as Ymir tune up the music playing, 'Take It Out On Me'.

"Annie Leonhart." Annie introduced herself. "You guys new in town?"

"Yeah...my mom thought about moving to be closer to work." Christa explained.

"This town is dangerous...you should be careful." Annie said.

"What?! I can't hear you- Ymir, tune it down!" Christa told her.

"You heard about the Titan Gang, right?" Annie asked them.

"What to hear about those freaks? Crimes about them decrease instantly last month." Ymir told her.

Annie didn't respond, instead, she simply looks outside through the window. Annie was now 16 years old, she was ripped with little muscle and one of the fastest female runners in Smallville High school. Other girls weren't a fan of her and some boys weren't either, based on her reputation. So, she never dated and her only friends were Reiner Braun and Bertholdt Hoover. Reiner, the strongest man in the wrestling team. And Bertholdt the smartest kid in class. As for Annie, everyone knew her as a cold heart.

"We're here." Ymir said as she parked the car in the parking lot.

"Thanks for the ride, Ymir." Annie thanked her with no emotion in her tone.

"Anytime, Annie." Ymir said. Annie and Christa got out of the ground, but Ymir simply put the car on reverse and drove off.

"Uhh...isn't she a student?" Annie asked as she watched the car drift to the right and into the street.

"She dropped out of High school a year ago and goes to a good-paying job. We used to live in the same house with me but she bought her own apartment with her money a month ago." Christa explained.

"I see." Annie simply said.

"Anyway...let's go!" Christa cheered as she grabbed Annie by the wrist and pulled her to the entrance to the school.

Annie was prepared to be bored once again. But Christa stayed with her before it was time for class. Annie couldn't but admitted it, but it was fun to hang out with another girl for once. But the bell rang and Christa said goodbye.
