Chapter 4-Trains and Sorting

May looked up to see the boy her and Harry had seen on the platform. She smiled as he asked if he could sit with them. They nodded and the boy sat across from them. "I'm Ron Weasley," The boy stated. "I'm Harry Potter and this is my sister, May," Harry said, pointing to his twin. Ron's eyes widened as Harry introduced us. He seemed curious to see Harry's scar and Harry quickly showed him. "Wicked," He said. Harry and May smiled. They began talking when a woman opened the door to ask if we wanted any sweets. Harry and I got up quickly to see the sweets on the trolley. Ron mumbled something about being set and Harry seemed sorry for him as he held up a sandwich. "We'll take the lot," Harry claimed. May looked at him, questioningly. He shrugged and pulled out a handful of golden coins, called galleons. He handed them over and was handed the candy. He dumped it on the empty seats and took a seat himself. May grabbed a candy and looked down at it. "Berty Bott's Every Flavour Beans?" She read. "They mean every flavor. George swears he got a boogie one once," Ron said. May picked carefully at the jelly beans and picked a pink one. She nibbled it and found that it was strawberry. She popped the rest of the jelly bean in her mouth and listened to the conversation without joining in.

Soon, a they found their compartment door opening once again. May turned her head to see a girl with bushy brown hair. She already had her Hogwarts uniform on and looked fairly annoyed. She looked around the compartment as though she was looking for something. "Have any of you seen a toad? A boy, named Neville, lost one," She sounded exasperated. Harry, Ron, and May all nodded in unison. "What's your name?" May asked. The girl smiled slightly as she said, "I'm Hermione. Holy cricket! You're Harry Potter! I've read all about you. And you are?" Ron looked up from stuffing his face and said, "Urm, Ron Weasley." Hermione looked disgusted and said, "Pleasure. Who are you?" May looked back up at the girl and smiled. "May Potter," She said. Hermione's eyes widened, "Really? I've heard about you, but no one ever really mentioned if you were dead or not. All everyone talks about is Harry." May shrugged and Hermione seemed to gather her pompous behavior again and said, "Well, you best get in your robes, I expect we'll be arriving soon." She turned and left. May smiled and grabbed her robes before heading out to the girl's restroom.

She smiled in the mirror as she looked at her new reflection in Hogwarts robes. She gathered her regular clothes and headed out the door, stopping herself from skipping. She was walking down the corridor when she bumped into a soft wall. She pushed back and found that she was pushing on her new friend, Draco Malfoy. She smiled up at him. He grabbed her wrist and led her into the compartment, which was nearly full already. "I see you make friends quick as well," She stated. Draco smiled and sat, pulling her down with him. "This is Crabbe, Goyle, and Pansy," He introduced, pointing to each one as he spoke. May nodded. "May," She said. They nodded politely. "So, which house are you hoping to get?" Draco asked. "House?" May questioned. "Don't tell me you're muggle-born," Draco said. May shook her head. "Good. There are houses at Hogwarts. There's Slytherin, which has an ambitious trait, Gryffindor, who's brave, Ravenclaw, they're smart, and Hufflepuff, really kind and good finders I've heard," Draco told her. May nodded, thinking which house would be the best for her. "I'd say I'm either a Hufflepuff or Slytherin," She said with her finger on her chin. Draco grinned and said, "I'm definitely Slytherin, my parents were." May nodded. "We should be in the same house, but I don't know what my brother will be...," She trailed off. "I really want to be in the same house as my brother," She stated. Draco nodded.

In no time at all, May found herself being pushed out the train and shuffled to a row of boats. She soon found Harry and Ron and stood by them. She smiled as they talk about random things she hardly even cared about. They were led to the boats by Hagrid and climbed in. She smiled as Draco gestured her over to his boat. "I'm going to go sit with them," She told her brother and his friend. They nodded slightly and she climbed into the boat. She smiled and looked to see that Pansy was also in the boat. She listened as they talked and thought of what house she should be in after all.
