UNHEARD  KOOK

THIRD PERSON ...
lailas room
laila sat in her room curled in a ball in the corner. the girl silently cried once again traumatized from what just happened. she used all her strength to stand up. limping to her bathroom, she started using her fingers to comb through her hair.

giving up she closed the bathroom door and locked it. not bothering to look in the mirror she reached over and turned on the shower. she quickly peed and discarded whatever clothes her dad decided not to rip off of her.

laila walked into the shower and wet her body. she slowly felt her body regain its strength. taking her time she grabbed the shampoo and slowly massaged it in her scalp. dragging the soap down her hair she tried her hardest to clean all of what was on her head.

following with conditioner laila covered the ends of her hair to get it nice and soft.

once laila was done with her hair she grabbed the body wash and loofah. she took the most time on her body, scrubbing her dads marks off of her.

once she was done laila turned the shower off and grabbed a towel from underneath the sink. she wrapped her body in it and dried herself off.

laila walked into her closet and grabbed some clothes. she got dressed in a green shirt with black loose shorts. she grabbed her socks and slid them on before her sneakers.

her hair got brushed quickly before she grabbed her phone and rushed out of the house.

laila has found that the easiest way to get out of the house, was not by being as quiet and slow as possible, but rushing as smoothly as possible. it was less noticeable.

she ran out of the house slamming the door behind her.

the girl ran for a little while before slowing down and walking. once she reached the familiar place she opened the door and walked in.

looking around she spotted her favorite person. mr. carrera. laila waved and sat in her seat in the corner booth.

"laila!" she heard her voice being called. she looked over to mr. carrera. "you want your usual?" laila smiled and put her thumb in the air.

while she waited for her food laila took her phone case off of her phone and took out the right amount of money to pay mr. carrera.

soon the fries and side of honey mustard came out and was put on the table. laila quickly reached out and shoved the money into
mr. carrera's hands. he takes the money and thanks the blonde girl sitting in front of him.

laila was about to stand up when she heard the door open and some loud voices enter. she sat back down not wanting to interfere with them.

she waited a minute before grabbing her things. laila walked to the garbage when she heard the voices. they started talking about a bon fire and she became curious. always wanting to go to one but never been able to, she stood there for a second. it wasn't until she heard the time 8:30 two moments later that she left. it was 7:30 so she had an hour to kill.

laila decided to walk back to her house and change. once she made it to her house she climbed the ladder she set outside of her bedroom window.

getting into her room she picked out a dress from her closet. she pulled out a loose white dress with pink flowers all over it.

laila changed and put her white birkenstocks on. she climbed back out her window and down to the grass. she looked at her phone and saw that the bonfire was gonna start in 10 minutes.

she started her walk there and watched the sun start to set.

by the time she made it, it was almost nine o'clock. the blonde girl walked down the beach sitting on a log.

a few distances away a blonde pouge was watching her.

"yo jj," john b snapped his fingers in front of his friends face.

jj looked at john b then back at the girl.

"whatever. go talk to her man," just as john b said that jj walked off to the blonde girl.

"hey! what's a pretty girl like you sitting here by yourself?" jj flirted with the girl and slung his arm around her shoulders.

laila shrugged and looked at him.

"jj," he introduced himself. laila just waved. "not gonna talk?"

she shook her head.

"okay that's fine. we can sit in silence together."

laila felt herself smile. anyone who tried to talk to her would just walk away and leave her alone. even her friends did that.

"i like your dress," jj complimented.

laila grabbed his hand that was dangling off of right shoulder as a thank you.

jj squeezed it and they sat like that for a few minutes.

it wasn't until they heard commotion that jj looked back. he saw john b and topper starting to argue.

"i'll be right back. i promise," jj ran off.

laila stayed sitting and ignored the huge fight that was happening not that far away from her. she stayed there until she heard the two gunshots. she shot up and ran over. she heard a scream but didn't recognize what it was saying.

"you gotta leave sweetheart," she looked infront of her to see jj talking it to her. once she took in what he said she shook her head no.

she didn't wanna leave, more specifically go home. and to her leaving means to go the fuck home.

"y'know what fine. get in that van," he pointed to him and his friends van.

laila looked at the unfamiliar van and started walking to it. she climbed and laid down.

she was growing tired and didn't hear voices until her eyes shut and darkness overcame her.
