"What do you want to name her?" I asked, laying in the hospital bed.

I want to get back together with him but I don't know how. I mean I already left him. And the only way he can be involved if as a father. Who ever would have thought my mother could have so much influence in my relationship?

"I've always loved the name Lacie, but whatever you want is fine." Ezra says. He's so sweet.

"That's pretty. I like the names Jade and Mercedes too." I say. I've always liked those names ever since I was a kid.

"Callie is pretty too." He says. I nod my head in agreement. I can't wait to have
my little girl to play with all day.

"Honey! You're okay! I've missed you so much!" My dad said running in to the room.

He had been away on business for a while. I had no clue if mom told him about the baby or Ezra.

"Hi dad!" I said, a bit shocked, especially since Ezra was here.

"Honey are you okay? How are you feeling? Your mom just said you fainted, she seemed sort of distressed." He said running over to me and grabbing my hand.

"I'm fine. I feel better. Umm....I don't know what's going on with mom." I lie. How has he not mentioned Ezra?

"That's good, good. Oh hello Ezra, what are you doing here?" Spoke too soon.

"Oh, hello Byron. I'm..uh..here because.." He never was good under pressure.

"He was at the hospital visiting a friend and thought he would stop by to see how I was feeling." I blurt out. Wow, that's the best lie yet. "Hey dad could you please let me talk to mom?" He nods and him and Ezra leave.

My mom walks in a few minutes later. "Why didn't you tell dad about Ezra or the baby?" I ask.

"Because I had a long chat with Ezra and I decided I was being unfair. I can keep his child from him and I'm not going to tell your father yet. I don't want to talk to him, especially since Meredith. I want Ezra to be involved, but I don't want you two dating when he is still your teacher. After that I have no control. So until you graduate. Can you deal with that?" I nod my head and hug her.

I will probably have to go back into secrecy with Ezra. But now I get the best of both worlds.
