Republic SpecForce - [Declassified]
Operation: [UNNAMED]
Mission Record: #001
Location: Ord Mantell
Objective: Locate and assist Havoc Squad
A voice came over the ship's comm system. "ETA Two minutes until arrival." Opilio sat in her seat, fiddling with her dogtags.
"Seen a lot of action?" Sterling asked her.
"Yeah. Had to repair em twice. Sith love to rip them in half before not killing me. Not to mention blood stains, shrapnel, and plasma all not exactly being friendly to them." Opilio laughed a bit before tying them back around her neck.
"Well, don't feel that bad. I'm on my third pair now. Third time's the charm I reckon. Hopefully these ones will last me." Sterling poked his out from under his armour.
"Here's hoping... What do you think we're in for?"
"Could be anything. I'm taking it just guerrilla warfare though. Would take a while even for Havoc to root them out without intel. Which I'm assuming they don't have."
"Would explain the hold up. But why are we here? I mean, I'm sure your service record is astounding, but what does Havoc need us for? They're the pinnacle of our military." Opilio speculated.
"Yeah, I've been under their command before when I did some Black-ops work. They cleared out an entire base on their own while it took us, and four other black-ops squads the same amount of time for the other one. Crazy stuff. Either way, we'll find out soon enough." Sterling explained.
"Not bad. If nothing else, I'm sure it'll be a good learning experience." Opilio got up and held on to the ceiling handle as their shuttle came in to land.
"Right on, Sergeant." Sterling chuckled. The shuttle door opened, and the pair stepped out in to the base. It was abuzz with life, as if something big was about to take place. A private ran over to them and looked at their clipboard.
"Corporal Bren Sterling and Sergeant Jane Opilio?" He asked, evidently in a hurry.
"That's us." Sterling responded as the private then saluted them.
"Welcome to fort Garnick sirs. I have been ordered to bring you to the briefing room by my superiors. Please follow me." The private diligently carried out his orders as he led the two soldiers to the conference room. Inside a few Republic officers were gathered around a holo-terminal with the inside of a base's schematics on.
"Adjourned. I need the room." A Cathar officer dismissed the others who saluted him and did as he asked. The Cathar turned to face them and saluted them.
"Major Aric Jorgan of the 12th battalion." He stated as he saluted.
"Corporal Sterling, SpecForce." Sterling saluted.
"Sergeant Opilio, SpecForce." Opilio also saluted.
With pleasantries out of the way, Jorgan returned his focus to the holo. "Havoc's mission has been changed. They're to infiltrate this base and extract a warhead. With this, the separatists should disband. Which is why it's chaos out there, we're getting ready to go already. You two are being assigned to them right? Well, it's your lucky day. I'm overseeing this op." Jorgan explained.
"With all due respect sir, why?" Opilio asked.
"Garza normally oversees these but she's busy in the senate today. She likes to keep them leashed recently from what I hear. For the last few months, they've been made recluses. Their files have become classified and they're not the heroic figureheads they once were. Your files will be the same should your assignment become permanent." Jorgan revealed.
