Us vs Them
Humans are genetically similar to all life on the earth. Many dislike the idea we originated from some sort of ape or in fact are just another animal on the planet.
What sets people apart from animals is the ability to be better than our design and animalistic nature.
Racism is engineered into us to protect and defend territory to maintain control over area resources and breeding. A cat will attack and chase off felines in their territory. Dogs as well however they understand dominance and submissiveness. Herd or pack animals have a hierarchy with roles for members and when a young male gets to breeding age he either fights for leadership over the herd or is chased off to find his own. Within the animal kingdom this makes sense the male with stronger traits breeds to keep a stronger herd.
People are not too far different as we prefer those that appear strong and healthy, in lover, friend, coworker or leader.
As we mature most realize who a person is, is more important.
When it comes to racism itself in our modern world it's petty ignorance.
*Race, religion or sexual orientation we all share one thing in common; None of us asked to be here. But here we all are, dealing with the same crap. So don't take it out on another. The biggest issue when it comes to racism is merely abusive alpha personalities that force their ill will upon others, and these people come in all races, religions and sexual orientations*
Sadly this is something science or psychology can't easily address and yet what is the source of sorrow for so many.
As a society advancing technologically you'd think the population would advance too.
Over the past few years dealing with the covid people are in fact not getting smarter. We look to our media, government and science for a resolution.
The facts are it is up to every single person to do better by altering their behavior. Science has shown us how the viruses work and how they spread. Which 95% people still don't understand.
Just because you have been vaccinated doesn't mean you kill the virus
A typical life scenario: One leaves the comfort of their home virus free. As soon as one grasps a public railing or door they chance picking up a virus. Anything someone else could've touched for that fact. Having the virus on the hand won't infect one without a cut or abrasion to the skin.
However the virus can still transfer to what ever they touch next. The average person touches their face multiple times in a day and this is where the virus enters the body, a picked nose, rubbing the eyes or eating. Now the virus is going to set up within. For a few days antibodies will attack the virus until one remains the victor.
Within this time when we don't feel sick but our body is trying to expel the virus: through sweat, sneezing, coughing, urine or fecal matter.
*Coughing and sneezing in public needs to be confined or the virus within will be launched at hurricane wind speeds. As the virus settles, even if airborne gravity will pull it down, it contaminates whatever it lands upon waiting to be picked up by another living being, and repeats the cycle*
The worst thing in society for germ spreading is children who don't understand what they can not see. I too am guilty of allowing a young child to handle toys in a department store while shopping and then leave it at the store, for another to touch.
Being smarter is a better defense than being dosed up with chemicals in a vaccine.
This is where we need to adjust our own behavior and teach our children to do the same.
*When out in public, touch only what you have to using your predominant hand. The other hand is for touching ourselves, eating and drinking. Sorry to those missing a hand or two. This simple action alone would significantly reduce the risk of contracting anything. We still have to consider food or beverage prepared for us might be contaminated by a worker*
To further prevent spread wash the hands before consuming things, or settling down within your space be it home or workplace.
Masks are a nice idea though it confuses most. Doctors and nurses wear surgical masks to prevent contaminating their surgery patients, while open. A surgical mask does very little to prevent inhaling contaminates as the mask is not sealed around the face. Doubt me throw on a surgical mask and do an hour of wood or drywall sanding and see for yourself. Those that wear a surgical mask just over the mouth aren't doing anything but looking silly.
Only masks that snugly fit around nose and mouth will prevent inhaling or expelling contaminates. Most masks if sneezed or coughed in can be cleaned to reuse.
However prolonged use of these masks can cause lung problems even if it has filters that are changed daily. Breathing moist re-circulated air isn't good for us. Besides no one wants to live in a society wearing masks like that just to run down to the store.
Viruses, bacteria, germs have always been with us and will continue to be with us throughout time.
