The Rainforest was quiet.

It was one of those nights where no other dragons (or birds for that matter) were awake, apart from the swarms of tropical bugs here and there. The moon shone brightly but none of the rainforest creatures accepted it's call.

Bumblebee just so happened to be having a sleepless night at the time. He flew down to the forest floor and landed softly on it's ground. It was dark, but Bumblebee didn't mind.

He was half in thought and his talons took him where he wanted to go, his scales changing to match the night clothed forest with dapples of light calm blue. Until he came to where he wanted to go, a silent meadow. Though small, it was cleared and had a stream coming from a small mound that was lost in undergrowth. He lay down by the pool, dipping in his claws and swirling them around in the night cool water.

The rainforest was always cooler at night, but was hot and humid in the day. Though tonight it was, colder. Bumblebee shivered lightly. Why was it colder than normal? It wasn't cold cold, it was just that the Rainforest was always warm, even on winter days.

Bumblebee got up, then realised it was coming from a place.

He walked over while his tail and tips of his wings turning white with fear, his mind flicking through things that it could be. IceWing maybe? I heard from Crow that their scales were really cold. But then he thought about it. No, why would a IceWing come here to the Rainforest? It's too hot for them.

Following the cold air, trying to keep his scales under control. Bumblebee walked though the quiet forest. It was almost eerie. So quiet and there might be an IceWing around. . .

Bumblebee! It's not an IceWing! He thought to himself. He lay down his wings to his side, trying not to alert whatever he was approaching. Though he still thought it was an IceWing, seeing those serrated claws in his mind, great for slashing dragons and keeping hold on ice. But he quickly pushed the thought away.

Coming around a large rock, Bumblebee pushed aside some ferns, then stopped. They were cold.

Slowing going around them, he looked more closely and saw some talon prints in the mud. Weird and spooky. Bumblebee thought. Better follow them and find out who this is.

Bumblebee followed the prints, they seemed to go further into the Rainforest Kingdom, away from the Mud Kingdom where Bumblebee had first felt cold. Then he saw it.

It was a dragon, like no other he had ever seen before. He was half black and half white, a line going down his back marking the border between them. The dragon looked kinda IceWing-ish. He had the neck spikes of one. Though, Bumblebee thought they'd be bigger. Of course they weren't bigger! Bumblebee thought. It's a hybrid!

The black and white hybrid looked a bit bigger than Bumblebee and he thought that maybe it was a NightWing hybrid, but he hadn't ever seen an IceWing NightWing hybrid in the NightWing Village. More strange, and more spooky.

As Bumblebee approached the hybrid, it stirred and opened its eyes. Bumblebee was taken back by it's, no his eyes. They were so beautiful. His eyes were a shimmering silver but at the same time one of the purest blues. Like they changed in the light. of course the two didn't make eye contact when the IceWing NightWing didn't see Bumblebee, But Bumblebee definitely was looking at them. Then Bumblebee realised that he had been staring for a while.

The unknown dragon got up and then winced as he moved his wings and shoulders. He must have flow here, and by the look of him he flew a while. Then he stopped, and looked in the direction of Bumblebee.

Bumblebee stopped a gasp. How does he know that I'm here! His brain raced. Was he mind reading? He'd heard NightWings could do that if they were born at the right time, but this dragon he had here was a hybrid.

Bumblebee wanted to help the dragon in front of him, he felt like he trusted him and needed to help him,

As Bumblebee stepped out from the undergrowth the dragon looked at him, the fear in his eyes seemed to either grow or shallow, Bumblebee couldn't tell.

"Hello," Bumblebee said. "Who are you?" Well that sounded more mean than needed. "I mean not in a rude way or anything-" Stupid me, always messing up words. But then he stopped. The dragon in front of him looked scared and hungry and tired all at the same time, which he felt bad for.

"Um, let's start over. Hi, I'm Bumblebee. What your name?" Bumblebee asked, his talons and wing tips turning light pink with embarrassment, but before he could get his answer there was a crash sound from the trees and a very red looking RainWing dropped down from the trees and glided toward Bumblebee.

"Harpy?!" Bumblebee exclaimed as the RainWing looking dragon that ran up to them, now having landed.

"Bumblebee! what are you doing this late at night I don't want to-" Then broke off, his scales turning somewhat of a yellowy green and sparky purple. It was clear that he had seen the hybrid dragon who was looking at them with somewhat of an expression that young dragonets would use if someone was telling a story they liked.

"Who in the three moons is this!" Harpy cursed, wrinkling his snout at him while his scales turned a fluorescent orange.

"Well I was about to find out!" Bumblebee snapped at him, his frill flaring angrily and he felt his tail and snout turn orange, a sign for frustration. He turned to the dragon who was laying on the ground and turned back to a aqua blue and mint. Was he shifting away from Harpy? Or was Bumblebee just imagining it? "What's your name?" he said in a softer tone. The hybrid looked at him.

Bumblebee was once again struck by the beauty of his eyes, and had to stop his from tail from twitching.

"Rain" The dragon said quietly.

"What?" Harpy said, well growled. "I didn't hear you."

"RainWatcher" He said with more boldness in his voice. RainWatcher sat up, Bumblebee could tell he was holding back from wincing in front of Harpy. I guess he's pretty mean looking, but all bark no bite. That's Harpy.

RainWatcher looked back at Bumblebee, as though listening to what he thought. He looked into his eyes, making Bumblebee want to fly far, far away. But also protect him from Harpy's harsh words. He could see it all so clearly, he stood in front of Harpy, telling him to go away or leave RainWatcher alone, or he walked over to RainWatcher and asked if he was okay, their wings brushing- nope nope stop you met him like what, THREE minutes ago!

Bumblebee saw RainWatcher touch his arm and saw that he was wearing a bracelet, it was silver and had small bits of moonstone in it. It reminded him of RainWatcher's eyes. Then he remembered that RainWatcher didn't know Harpy's name.

"Oh! I'm Bumblebee by the way, which you know, this is Harpy." Bumblebee waved to his friend. "He's a RainWing SkyWing hybrid." Bumblebee smiled at RainWatcher, hoping to make him less scared if he was.

This seemed to work because RainWatcher smiled right back at him, Bumblebee felt his own gaze trapped in line with RainWatcher's and quickly looked away and pushed out the thoughts that raced though his mind

"C'mon Harpy, let's take RainWatcher to the village shall we?"
