"Are sure this is still a good idea?"

Rain walked into the caves. They had just told DreamStalker about the SkyWing seller who was unhappy about the fish he got from them. It was their way to get DreamStalker out of the cave. Rain felt bad, but the coverup story was true, and that SkyWing would be kind of madder than she was before if she didn't see DreamStalker.

"Yes, of course it is!" Jade replied with utmost certainty.

"But what if something happens," Rain stopped walking. "What if he doesn't have a Dream Visitor? What if I'm wrong and we're going through his stuff and-"

"Three moons Rain, calm down. DreamStalker won't come back for a while. That town is a while away." Jade said to him, brushing his wings with hers.

"I guess so." He said, continuing to walk towards DreamStalker cave.

If DreamStalker did have a Dream Visitor, if being the key word, that is the reason why weird things had happened, that meant so many things could happen. So many weird things, that's how he about things before we told him. Rain's mind was whirling.

He took a deep breath and stopped walking, letting Jade go ahead. Then he reached into the bag on his arm and pulled out the bracelet.

Should I put it on? He thought. Maybe I'll see him coming?

Rain decided not to and slipped it back into his bag.

As they entered DreamStalker's cave Jade turned to him.

"So do you wanna go first and I'll keep watch?" She asked him.

"Sure, then when you get fed up about me not finding things I'll watch and you can look." He smiled at her, they joked so he didn't have to be scared, Jade's laugh was comforting. He'd known it for ages and it filled him with confidence.

Rain looked around the cave as he walked inside. It was bigger than his or Jade's and it had a mat in the middle, along with a lot of other mats. There were maps on the walls with labels for places to find food and towns where they sold the food. To the left of him, there was a ledge coming off the wall, and on it was a stand with lots of jewels.

To his right was DreamStalker's bed, made of moss and other leafy things just like Rain's and Jade's. Next to his bed facing the back wall, was a wooden table with a lot of scrolls with DreamStalker's handwriting on them. Under it was a chest.

Rain looked over at the table and read some of the scrolls. They were orders about market supplies, some he was replying about when he'll come to get something or other, letters from... hang on.

Rain looked more closely at the letter.

From Jade Mountain Academy

We would love to take in your two dragonets RainWatcher and JadeMoth.

At Jade Mountain Academy we love to teach your dragonets about history, other tribes, reading, writing and so much more...

The letter went on about if Jade and Rain wanted to join and they had to agree too.

Rain put the scroll away and picked up another. It was about something about a festival at Possibility. But then he saw a key.

Does it go to the chest? Rain thought. He picked up the key and put his head under the desk. He put the key into the chest and turned it. The chest opened. Inside was a few more notes and a book, as well as some more treasure.

Rain pushed some papers out of the way and then.

There it was. Sitting smugly under the papers was a star-shaped Sapphire.

He does have a Dream Visitor! Rain thought in panic, his tail twitching.

"Jade come look!" He called to her.

No there was no reply.

Rain looked over his shoulder, fear running down his spine from what he saw.

DreamStalker was there and he had his claws around Jade's neck.

Rain stiffened. He looked Jade in the eyes. Oh no no no, it's all gone wrong, maybe if I put on the bracelet then I would have heard him coming. He thought in despair, his wings weighing down in defeat.

"I was going to grab a rabbit so I wouldn't be so unkind to the SkyWing," DreamStalker said, his voice sounded more calm but cold, it made Rain want to sink into the shadows and never return.

"Now I don't think I need to." He finished his claws tightened around Jade's neck, and she shifted her talons, trying to stand upright so she didn't fall over, probably so she could turn around and bite him.

"Please," Rain said. "It was my idea please don't hurt Jade." He couldn't see a life without her, he loved her so much. (platonically you sugar iced tea-) She couldn't die, no she couldn't.

"I don't care whose idea it was!" DreamStalker roared, if he had enough fire he would have smoke coming out his mouth and nose. "I just need you to know that you should have never gone through my things and disrespected me."

Then Rain noticed something on Jade's horn. Her horn ring! How did I not notice it before?

Just after the last seconds of his thought, she was gone. Just gone. Out of the world to every other dragon. Except for Rain who knew she'd used the horn ring to turn he scales into the world around her. Two seconds later DreamStalker released his talons from her neck and looked around in confusion. Then he let out a roar of pain and fury.

Jade appeared and was biting down on his tail. DreamStalker turned around and clawed at her before she changed again and was out of sight. Rain didn't know what to do. Did she run away without me? No, she wouldn't do that. Just then DreamStalker fell to the floor and Jade appeared once again on top of him biting into the back of his neck.

She shortly lifted her snout and called to Rain.

"Run!" She yelled, just before DreamStalker rolled over and she quickly had to get up.

Should I run? Rain thought. No, I shouldn't leave Jade, no I can't do that. He was petrified, stuck to the spot. Rain couldn't move.

As she got up she yelled at him again. "Cursed by the moons, Rain, run!" Jade said to him quickly as she changed a mixed colour of red, light green and white.

She turned but to DreamStalker and slashed him in the face above his eyes and he snarled and clawed out blindly, blood dripping down his face into his eyes.

Jade quickly turned around and pushed Rain toward the door before returning to her fight with DreamStalker.

That was all Rain needed to get his legs moving and they ran out of the cave and down the tunnel. Should I go back for Jade? no, I can't she told me not to, but I should!

But he didn't. He flew into the sky and flew away. He didn't look back.
