ARABELLA
I examine every space of this clear swimming pool. Nothing is there. Where could that go? Was it thrown in the garbage when they cleaned this place?
If that's the thing, I don't think I'd ever get to have that broken mobile in my hands again. I sigh frustratedly.
I was about to turn around but got frozen on my spot when my gaze caught some black object thrown near a pipeline, a few steps away from here. I can't say anything clearly if that's what I've been searching for or not.
I rush there, becoming more and more clear with my every step towards it that that is the broken mobile I've been looking for.
I pick it up, all dust and useless.
Useless? Pretty much not. I know how to make the best out of waste when it comes to such stuff.
"Arabella?" Hearing somebody's voice, I quickly slide the mobile open.
"What?" I turn around and Julian's eyes get glued to the mobile in my hand after giving me a suspicious look.
"Trying to conquer your fears, I see" he says skimming at the pool and then back at me.
"Yes." I say and he nods in response, catching my lie with no doubt.
"What's that in your hands?"
"Mobile, duh"
"It's obvious that it's not yours. Who does it belongs to?" he asks, observing my every move.
I smile, "Why would I tell you?"
He smiles too, taking one more step closer, "Maybe I could help you with what's troubling that little head of yours?"
I nod.
Not a bad idea. A perfect way to reach what I want.
"The day I almost got drowned inside the pool, I saw somebody using this mobile here. I don't know who it was, but that person just, you know, suddenly started to break it and then threw it somewhere here"
He listens to each and every word carefully, "Something sus is going on here. We will handle it." his hand raises up for me to handle the mobile.
"What are you both doing here?" Luca's firm voice from behind makes him lower his hand.
Luca strides near us and stands before me. And what happens next is what I assumed.
Julian reports everything to him.
Luca signs him to leave as he takes one more step towards me, his gaze skimmed at the phone in my hands before getting back up at me. "You want to know about that person?" he questions.
I steal my gaze away from him crossing my arms on my chest. "It's not your thing to search out, bellissima, handle it to me." he insistes.
I glance back at the pair of his blue eyes. I shake my head, "No. It's my thing to search out" my voice sharpened, "because that bastard is the one who pushed me inside the pool"
I'm aware of how water bodies affect me, how my body begins to get pulled by it; but that day I did not slide into the water by myself. I'm sure I felt a push from behind.
His jaw clenches as a shock behind his anger appear on his expression, "Why didn't you tell me this earlier?"
I let out a small chuckle, "You would be the last person I'd ever consider telling"
When his gaze collided with mine again, it was cold. "Don't play stupid, I want to track that motherfucker down at your feet and beg for mercy to you," his voice hardened, "And living under the same roof as me, in this house, is the biggest dumb shit he could ever do"
