The violin felt as if it told him to sob.

Tears ran down his face.

He played for hours.

Then, he passed out.

He wished it was death.

Xavier woke up to a little boy's voice.

“Wake up! Wake up!”

“Huh?”

“Your leg..Are you okay?”

Xavier got up.

“Yes, Who are you?”

“I'm Edward.”

“I'm Xavier.”

Edward held the violin.

“This looks old. I'd say a thousand bucks on this one.”

“It's that expensive?”

“Well, it's a common gift for those who want to start an instrument.

Whoever gave you this must have asked the shop owner.”

“It's..not really a gift for me.”

“You bought it for yourself?”

“Well..I had 2 sisters as my friends..One sister gave the other this, and they both died before she could give it.”

“That's..terrible. They've been trying to find a recent deceased patient's family.”

“That's her. Quite of a long story.”

“Oh, so you're the guy that walked out all injured? Great sense.”

“Why did you even visit the hospital?”

“My mom works there. This forest is a grim place as well.”

“Most people who have lost someone in this hospital go to this forest and die.”

Xavier got up and left.

“I have to go. How old are you anyways? And how did you know about this violin?”

“I'm 10 years old and my sister sells instruments.”

“Interesting. Gotta get going.”

“Where?”

Xavier sighed, “I can't exactly say I know where. More like a homeless shelter to be honest.”

“You could stay with us if I ask my mom.”

Edward took Xavier's hands and led him to the entrance of the hospital, where they met one of the nurses.

“Oh. You again.”

“Mom, just let him stay with us. He's got no one!”

The mother sighed, “Edwardo, I can't let some unknown guy into our home.”

“I'm Xavier. 15 years old. Born on November 21st. My father passed away a few days ago and my mother's name is Liana William.”

“Still, How can I prove that?”

“Look at me. I'm the height of a 15 year old because I'm a 15 year old. My mom's name is Liana. My father died. I don't know how to prove these without a birth certificate.”

“If your mother is alive, why don't you live with her?

“Because she's abusive. Why do you think my father is dead?”

The mom shuddered at his response.

“Only a week. I'll give you some financial support but not that much.”

Xavier agreed.
