Xavier woke up.
It was 6AM.
He slept for 12 hours.
This time, he decided to skip breakfast and take a cold shower.
It was too cold. He felt dripping ice on his knees.
He rubbed the soap against the loofa.
He scrubbed himself well and put some conditioner.
Suddenly, he felt imbalance in his legs and rubbed himself over and over against the wall.
He closed his eyes. His mother walked around looking for her purse.
The door creaked. He felt his mother's breath in the room, but he didn't know if she was there or if she was just..looking at him.
He opened his eyes. Her breath was against his shoulder.
He turned around. She was gone. The door was wide open.
Xavier got out of the shower and put some clothes on. The window revealed the sunrise.
The sunrise Xavier had longed to see with Aline.
He broke down and sobbed.
It's been 2 or 4 days since her death. He can't even remember.
He shouldn't bottle it up anymore. She died. She's not coming back in some supernatural way.
"This is real." Xavier said, his tears being let out for the first time.
"It... isn't..f
His mom was sleeping.
He was scared.
He picked up the violin.
No sound came out of it. It was just air.
It was warm air.
It was the breath he smelled at the shower.
He turned around. A woman was there.
"Who are you?"
"My water."
"What's wrong with your water?"
"It's broken."
The woman was pale and her skin was loose.
She gave him a bucket that contained water but smelled like the warm air from the violin.
The door closed.
"Madame, Do you understand what happened to this water?"
"No." she said.
"I presume that you would know.." he replied, in a soft, confused tone.
"I'm sorry. My husband has been bothering me lately."
"Who?" Xavier said as his voice turned big.
He leaned onto the woman.
His skin touched against her skin.
It was pale and loose. It felt like polyester.
"Is this...fabric..?"
She did not reply. Xavier attempted to peel the skin off.
It showed his same skin tone.
He tried peeling the skin off the face.
He succeeded in that.
He succeeded.
It was him.
"This copy is no longer available." Xavier said.
He fell to the marble floor.
"It's time to understand the consequences of your actions." The woman said, leaving the door shut behind her.
Xavier woke up.
He was against his bedroom's window. The glass was almost breaking and his mom was behind him, holding a sharp knife.
He wasn't wearing clothes.
He was wet and cold.
The cold water dripped to the floor, as the window was going to break.
Xavier's voice turned small as he said, “Mom?”
“Your life will come to an end.” She said, her voice being louder every word she says.
“NO!”
He leaned against the window and slid to the other side of the bedroom, trying to open the door.
He opened it and locked it.
His mother's voice was in pain.
"Sigh, you never learn from your mistakes." Xavier said.
"You're right. Especially on November 21st, 2007.", His mom replied.
"It wouldn't have been a mistake if you continued it right."
"No. You were always a mistake. Your grandma herself was disgusted by your face."
"Well guess who I got it from."
"Me. But if you had been a good personality this wouldn't have happened."
"That is, if you ever taught me anything."
