Adora woke up early the next morning in Catra’s arms, the cat girl holding her as tightly as possible. Adora didn’t mind it, she enjoyed it. She snuggled into the girl as much as possible.
“Hmm… Adora?” Catra grumbled, waking up at the sudden movement as her piercing eyes landed on Adora.
“Hey, Catra,” Adora said, “Sorry for waking you up.”
“I don’t mind,” Catra smiled, taking Adora’s smooth hand into her own, “not if it’s you.” Adora couldn’t resist the blush from appearing on her now reddened cheeks. “Did you sleep well?” Catra asked, planting a kiss on the brunette’s knuckles. ‘Thanks to you,’ Adora thought, “yes, you embracing me helped.”
Catra’s smile got larger, pleased to hear that Adora had a good night of sleep. “That’s good, don’t want you to become a cranky old woman.” Adora burst out a chuckle from her lips, Catra’s heart fluttering in response.
The door is then opened by a nurse with the name Shikata on her name tag, “Adora, your family is here to see you.” Shikata announced.
“Send them in please, Shikata.” Shikata nods, stepping aside and letting Fugaku, Mikoto, Itachi, and Kyle come inside.
“Oh, my baby girl!” Mikoto runs, hugging Adora and cupping her cheeks. “Are you alright?” Adora gripped Mikoto’s wrists with her hands, “Kaa-san, I’m fine.” Mikoto sighed in relief, kissing her daughter’s cheek. “I’ll make sure to kill who hurt you, my baby girl.” Itachi chuckled at the scene before him, sitting next to his baby sister. Kyle ran, hugging Adora. “Onee-chan!” He had a tight grip on his older sister. “You had us worried…”
“He’s right, we were worried. We all were,” Itachi does the Uchiha poke to her forehead. Adora whined, “Stop flicking me…” Catra chuckles, arms wrapping around the brunette’s waist, kissing her cheek.
“He’s not wrong.” Fugaku joins in, walking closer to his only daughter. “I’m glad you’re safe, I’ll make sure that those vermin get the full punishment for attacking one of my children.” He bends down to his knees, kissing Adora’s forehead. “But you, for now, focus on getting rest, okay?”
Adora nodded, “I’ll be fine, Dad,” she said, “I have Catra with me, and all of you.”
“Well, ain’t that the truth?” Kyle pipped in, Adora chuckles, ruffling his hair momentarily.
Everyone stayed for hours, and Adora was grateful for them. She doesn’t know what or where she would be without her family. It was late when they left, they would be back in the morning to pick her up from the hospital. Catra was the only one who stayed that night.
Adora lays on the soft-ish pillow on the hospital bed, a smile curled up to her lips as she feels arms wrapping around her waist with a family voice whispering in her ear. “Feel any better, ‘Dora?”
“Much better, Cat,” Adora hums, “thanks to the others, and mostly you.” Catra lays her head on Adora’s shoulder, “Just looking out for my best friend… I want you to know, I will go through hell and back for you, and nothing’s going to change that.” She said.
“And I want you to know I would do the same for you.” Adora closes her eyes, falling asleep once more within a few minutes.
