We were sitting at a giant round table and the whole band was there. Steven and the rest of the band were talking about the concert tomorrow. The girls were fussing over the ultrasound pictures and about what it was like to be pregnant. They asked a million questions.
How did I find out I was pregnant?
Why didn't I tell Steven right away?
Was I trying to get pregnant?
When did I realize I could be pregnant?
The questions went on and on, but everyone was really excited for Steven and I.
"When the baby comes, are you gonna stay home while Steven's on tour?" asked Lori. I shook my head no.
"I'm not going to be one of those moms that change their whole lifestyle just because they have a kid. Yeah, I understand that some things will have to change, but I can do a lot of things with her too." I smiled.
"Wait, how do you know its a girl?" asked Elyssa. "Your only 6 weeks. That's impossible for you to know already."
"I can just feel it. I know it's a girl." I put my hand on my stomach.
"Are you going to get married before she gets here?" asked Terry.
"I'm not sure. I'd like to be able to drink at my wedding, at least. How much fun can you really have when you weigh a billion pounds?" I laughed.
"What are you gonna name her?" asked April. She was Joey's new love interest who he met at dinner one night.
"I'm not sure yet. Steven and I haven't really talked about it. But at least we have 8 months to talk about it." I smiled and felt a hand on my stomach. I scooted closer to Steven. I knew I had to savor this moment, because tomorrow he'd be totally off the wall. He always got like that the day of a concert.
As the night went on, things started getting crazy. You don't realize how much fun it is to snort some blow and get drunk until you can't do it anymore. By midnight, I was ready to get the hell out of there.
Elyssa had gone to the bathroom and didn't come back for awhile. Joe asked me to go get her for him. When I went to find her, she was hooking up with some guy in the utility closet. I came back, but I told Joe I couldn't find her. No way was I being the barer of bad news. Joe went to find her, and find her he did. He came out absolutely fuming, with Elyssa trailing behind, insisting she was being raped. No one believed her, since this wasn't the first time. Unfortunately, she sweet talked Joe back in every single time, and they always got back together.
I turned to Steven, who was drunk also, "We're leaving." I told him. He grabbed my hand and we walked to the car. I heard someone follow us.
"Can I come with you guys? Elyssa is being a bitch." It was Joe.
"Yeah. You can sleep on the couch if you want."I told him.
I drove since the boys were nearly belligerent. I climbed into the drivers seat and punched the gas. Mississippi Queen by Mountain came on the radio. I cranked it all the way up and stepped on it.
"Would you slow the fuck down? Your gonna kill us all." said Steven.
"Well, unlike you I'm not drunk. So we'll be just fine." I assured him. I hit 90 and switched gears. I was doing 95 when I heard the sirens and saw the flashing lights.
"You've done it now." said Joe from the backseat. I rolled my eyes.
"I can handle this, just keep your mouths shut." I said. The officer came to my side of the car.
