Naade

As if to make things worse, Emelia Sanderson heads into the room. She rushes to my feet and tries to help me up. I push her hands away gently. I don't want her to see me like this. "Emelia, it's fine. I am okay. I was just playing games with Ryker and Mobo. You know how they can be."

I look into the eyes of the tall, light-skinned beauty that has caught my attention for a while now. Emelia's fair skin glistens in the dark room. "Naade, I have something important to tell you."

"Something important? Do you want to come to my room? I could prepare dinner, we could have some champagne and talk. Anything you want, Emelia." I grab her hands and give her a peck on her rosy and plump cheeks.

She seems uncomfortable as she rubs her arms together.

"Do you feel cold? Do you want my jacket?"

"No, Naade, I really need to talk to you right now, and I don't want this matter to wait." She grabs my hand and pulls me to the meeting room entrance.

"There you are, my darling. I was just getting drinks for you," Jasper moves nearer to Emelia and claims her lips with his. Emelia breaks away from his kiss and pushes Jasper away from his kiss by shoving his face away.

My face darkens, and I look at the couple in front of me. "What is going on here?" My voice comes out calmer than usual, and I grab Jasper by his shoulders.

"Why are you kissing her?" Of all the dumbest questions I could ever ask, this one hit deeply because I feel embarrassed.

"I am kissing my girlfriend, and you should watch yourself, bro," Jasper winks at me, and his lips curl into a lazy smirk. I had a shitty day today and would not let this bother me. My pride has been hurt today, and this issue would not pull me down.

I walk out of the room without a word. Emelia runs after me, her heels clicking on the ground as she tries to catch up with me. "Naade, please wait."

"Why should I wait? you have a new boyfriend now," I sneer at her.

"Naade, I needed you and tried to reach you. I was lonely, and Jasper was there when I needed someone to talk to. I did not mean for you to find out like this," She shrugs her shoulders and scrunches her nose.

I scoff loudly and shake my head. "Of all the people you could frickin date, you chose him. Emelia, you chose him?"

"You, of all people, know the nature of my job. Every time I wasn't here, I always took care of you. All those nights we shared together, all the small talks we made, the orchids, the roses, the kisses. That didn't mean anything to you?"

Emelia grabs my hands and circles my thumb with her index finger.

"Naade, you know I will always love you, and I know you will always love me. I just want something different for a change. This is not a breakup; it is just a small break. I just want to take things easy, destress, and have a bit of fun. I hope you will understand," She looks at me with puppy dog eyes.

"Were you sleeping with him when we were together?" I ask her. She looks away and clears her throat. "I would never do that to you, Naade." She says and flips her long brunette hair with her hands. I grab a wisp of Jasmine and mint. Her hair reached her shoulders, and it complemented her beauty.

"Look me in the eye and answer the question, Emelia," I glare at her with eyes blazing with anger.

"You do not want me to answer that question," It takes me all the self-restraint in the world to not punch the wall right now.

"Naade, I genuinely care about you because you are a great guy and what we have is truly special. You should believe me when I say it's just a temporary break,"
