Months had passed. The two just going along with their regular lives. Almost as if they weren't dating.
Still. Seonghwa had never been more genuinely happy than he was right now. He'd hated his life. Always putting a fake smile on, an act. But he wasn't acting anymore. He was actually happy.
And in all honesty. Seonghwa wanted it differently. He wanted to act like a couple. But every time Seonghwa tried, Hongjoong would tense up, or just not respond. Resulting in Seonghwa pulling away. Feeling bad, and guilty for making Hongjoong uncomfortable.
He just couldn't tell if Hongjoong was all in on the relationship. He wanted him all in. Seonghwa wanted to know if Hongjoong was genuinely interested in being in this relationship.
He had said he was. But some times, Seonghwa just could not believe that.
The two finally arrived home from their individual workplaces. Hongjoong arrived first, closely fallowed by Seonghwa. Who immediately changed into more comfortable clothes. Hongjoong did the same shortly after. Not wanting to change in the same room as Seonghwa.
Yes. They slept in the same room, same bed. Just not particularly as closely as Seonghwa would've liked. Which is completely fine. Everyone has their own comfort levels. But Hongjoong refused to even look at him shirtless. And would quickly turn away, or walk into a different room if he were to leave the bathroom without a shirt.
Plus. Before they were a couple, he never seemed uncomfortable being close. They had platonically snuggled, and he never complained, or felt hesitant in that time. But something changed for some reason.
It was... Strange. To say the least.
Once the two were seated in the sofa, more then a foot apart. Seonghwa once again decided to try and cuddle up to his partner. The weather was cold out, and it would be pleasant.
"Can I lay on you?"
Seonghwa questioned, watching as Hongjoong head snapped twords him, almost in shock. As if Seonghwa had never asked this before."I guess."
Hongjoong replied hesitantly."Nevermind. I'm gonna go shower, or something."
Seonghwa stated, standing from his seat and wondering down the hallway. The annoyance was starting to weigh on him. It was starting to piss him off, and it shouldn't. He just wanted a boyfriend. He didn't want a roommate that slept in the same bed.
As much as he dreaded it, there was a conversation needed. He just had to time it to ensure Hongjoong wouldn't be upset.
---
Later in the day, well, at this point it really was night.
Seonghwa finally decided he should just go for it. It wasn't like he hadn't been yelled at before. And he definitely didn't expect Hongjoong to be violent. Or at least he hoped.
