The two sat across from each other, both happily enjoying the cheap takeout meal they decided on.

Seonghwa broke the silence.
"Why were you looking for somewhere to stay?"
He asked.

"My mother's ill. And I finally checked her into a nursing home;" Hongjoong felt eyes brim with tears around his waterline, desperately trying to blink them away.
"Uhm, I thought it would be better for her."
He cursed his voice for being so shaky.

Seonghwa cocked his head in interest. A reaction Hongjoong did not expect.

"I'm sorry to hear that."
He stated.

"It's okay. She'll be alright. Anyway. I don't like staying in her home. So, I just sleep on couches."
Hongjoong shrugged.

Seonghwa nodded.
"I see!"
He exclaimed.
"Well, no more uncomfortable sofas for you."
Seonghwa laughed. Hongjoong mirrored the gesture.

Seonghwa was a beautiful person. Absolutely stunning, actually. How does one walk around with such a beautiful face daily, Hongjoong asked himself. He quietly stared at Seonghwa as he finished his meal, not realizing just how long he had been looking.

Seonghwa waved his long fingers in front of Hongjoong's face, his rings reflecting the light, lightly hitting Hongjoong's eyes, just enough for him to snap out of it.

Seonghwa hummed.
"You okay?"
He asked.

Receiving a nod from a blushed, and embarrassed Hongjoong.
He felt his cheeks and ears burn, but at this point there was no way of hiding it.

"Why are you blushing?"
Seonghwa laughed.

"You didn't have to point it out though?!"
Hongjoong protested.

"But you're so cute."
Seonghwa muttered.

The two fell silent.
Just staring at each other for a moment.

Seonghwa suddenly stood, heading off into the kitchen, and began cleaning the dishes.

-what the fuck was that- Hongjoong thought to himself. Blushing again at the thought of the small interaction.

-cute-

Seonghwa scrubbed at the various plates and glasses. Fully regretting his answer to Hongjoong. Why would he tell him he was cute?!

Granted.
He was.
Very cute, actually.

Why did he blush though?
Was Hongjoong not straight?
He swore he was?

Seonghwa tried to shake the questions. Desperately trying to push them away. They were roommates. Never anything more. They weren't even friends yet. Seonghwa wasn't attracted to him. Nor vice versa.

He dried his hands. Deciding to just go to bed. His mind just annoying him at this point. He passed by Hongjoong's room, and strangely, something in him told him to knock, and visit the boy, but he pushed it aside.
