After cleaning ourselves, we went to where everybody was already waiting for breakfast. Thank goodness, we are not too late, so everyone can still hold their hunger. Nothing happened during this peaceful breakfast until it ended with laughter and energetic smiles from the children. They're going out of the room while holding each of their admired teenagers' hands.
While we were cleaning dishes, I saw Matron had already gone to her room. So, I chased her from behind. Unfortunately, I was stopped in my tracks by someone's tiny hands. When I looked down, a pair of blue eyes stared back. My body stunned, not knowing what to say at this moment.
"Where are you going, Viona?" A little girl with auburn hairs asked me while her blue eyes looked up to me with hands still holding my skirt.
"Umm," I answered, "I have to go to the matron's room. What's wrong, Natasha?"
Natasha, the long auburn-haired little girl who kept me here, is pouting while fiddling with her fingers.
"I want to play house, but no one wants to play with me."
Her blue eyes teared up, "Can you play with me, please?"
Ugh... I don't have a heart to reject her...
"I-Uuh," My eyes avoided her puppy eyes.
Honestly, Natasha was one of my weakness-beside Trix. I remember that I always played with her every afternoon. Yet, the thoughts meeting her again never came across again in my adulthood.
It's hard to think that I forgot about her after the accident happen as she was taken care by me, but-
Suddenly, someone took my hand gently and clasped it with theirs.
"There you are, Viona. Don't we have to meet Matron before we go?"
Trix tilted her head to see me better and asked, "Is there any problem here?"
"Oh," my cheeks flushed at the sight of her, "it's nothing."
"Don't lie to me, Viona."
She smirked and put her hand on my cheek, saying, "You know that you can't lie, right?"
"Ah," I was taken aback, "I- It's just that... Natasha-She wanted to play house with me."
"Is that so?" she asked, closing our distance.
"Yes," My eyes ignored her silver eyes, then I pleaded, "Hey, Trix. Does it have to be now?"
"Well, we already planned it this morning. Don't tell me that you want to delay it for her."
"Ugh." Trix sighed as she moved away from me. "Haa, it's just like you, Viona. You never win against those puppy eyes."
I said shyly, "I'm so sorry."
"Don't be," she assuredly said, "let me handle this."
Then, she approached Natasha, who was standing near us.
"Hello, our favorite girl."
"Hello to you too, Trix. I want to play with Viona right now." The auburn-haired girl smiled and innocently questioned," Are you done flirting with her?"
I was flabbergasted, "Natasha!"
My eyes wandered to my best friend's reaction, hoping to see something. Something that could soothe my heart. Yet, her face was so calm, like it had nothing to do with her.
"Aah, I see. I'm sorry, but Viona already has a plan with me today."
Hearing that, her blue eyes teared up.
