" Matthew!" Meredith came running into my room waving her hands in the air.

She held an envelope in her hands and I sat up in bed.

" What is it Meredith?" I asked groggily and she waved the envelope in my face.

" Look!" She said pointing to the name on the envelope. " Mary- Margret Mary-Margret!" She exclaimed.

She jumped off the side of the bed. Her short legs bouncing off the ground.

She clapped her hands and danced with the envelope.

" Meredith." I said stepping off the bed.

I took her hands in mine and stared down at her short figure.

" Throw it out." I said Andrew happy face fell solemn.

" No." She said turning and putting it on my desk.

" Meredith." I said and she shook her head and raised her arms.

" Read the damn letter!" She yelled walking out if the room.

I walked over to my desk, rubbing my bare chest.

My knuckles were bruised and scared over.

I looked at the letter and opened it.

Dear Matthew,
Today is my birthday. My morning started off pleasantly when my brother marched through my doors with a present for me. It was a sketch/map of Pangéa. He has a wonderful talent for art. But my day took a more gloomy turn when my own parents forgot it was my birthday. Ah the joy of having a busy King, and a bittersweet Queen for parents. But my maid Meredith knew how to cheer me up, which brought more sunshine to my day. You'll have to forgive me for being soft Matthew, but I wish you were here with me. Somehow I know you could make me feel better. I'm not sure weather you'll read this or not, but if you do, please write me.
Love,
Mary Margaret

I smiled to myself and thought if I should visit her, my thoughts spinning wild, I decided if I could write a letter back, I would.

I grabbed a pen and a piece of paper and began t write.

Dear Mary-Margaret,
I'm sorry that your birthday was so troubling. I would like to wish you a happy birthday myself. Your parents must be very busy to forget such an eventful day, the day of the princesses birth. You must also know, kings and queens are busy. To an extent that they forget almost every holiday, my parents forget most days. I regret to inform you that the letter you gave me yesterday, is in the bottom of a trash can somewhere in the castle, the reason being, I don't believe this is a good idea. I pondered to myself and came to the conclusion that well " A little rebellion is always good."
How would we be as far as we are now if we hadn't tried things, or met new people. I would dread the thought that we, being you and I, met and I say confidently, felt a spark or two.
I would be content in regret if I could have and I didn't, try to move in farther with this, acquaintance.
My deepest apologies, and my happiest wishes.

Your friend,
Matthew

I went to Meredith and she said she would ride it up as soon as possible.

Meet edits read it and she started to cry.

" Matthew. Your a totally different person when you write." She said wrapping her arms around me.

" Should I write a different one?" I asked and she shook her head.

" No no, this is perfect." She said and she stared me int he eyes with a smile in hers. "'If you were to be a bit more like yourself, you'd be a complete ass." She said causing me to question to laugh or not, I ended up doing so.

" This letter is different from all my others." I said and she nodded. " It turned out less, tough." I said and she nodded.

" Maybe this girl brings out the sweeter side in you." She said with a thinking smile.

I smiled at her and she was off. I took a shower, then got myself dressed.

I greeted my parents at the table and took my seat.

" Son, we will not be entering a war. Well at least not at this moment." He said reassuringly and I put my hand up so he'd stop.

" I don't want to have another day angry. Don't speak of that." I said and he nodded with pursed lips.

" Sweetie?" My mother directed towards my father. " Don't you think Matthew should find a, girl." She said and my father put down the paper and folded his hands in front of him.

" Son, your six-teen." He said and I nodded, putting the cereal into my mouth. " Your growing up, you should find a lady." He said and I took a sip of my water.

" I don't want to." I said and he looked at me shocked. " Dad." I said addressing him. " I don't want to be another cliche where a lady has to enter the picture for me to be 'whole'." I said and he nodded. " I want to be the best king, by being the king I am." I said and he nodded and smiled.

" You've always had impeccable knowledge, and always been wiser then I." My father said satisfied with my being.

I smiled weakly, and gave my father a nod.

When I was finished I walked to the barn, tending to my horse.

I looked around and hopped on shadow, then rode towards Noléa to wish the princess happy birthday, personally.

I picked up flowers and I was off towards her, Mary-Margaret.
