I couldn't imagine that the green eyes in Mary's head came from satan.

I paced my room, my mother wasn't happy with my decision and now she was in her room sobbing.
Andrea yelled. No screamed at me for how dumb i was for doing this.

Anna is torn up because she doesn't want me to leave at such a time in our ' beginning' whatever the hell that is.

I sat down on my bed, and stared at the wall, my eyes landing on a picture of my father, Kellen and I.
My mother was the one taking the picture.

She loved Kellen, and looked at him like a son, and as my brother that I never got to have.
He helped my family through so much and I couldn't leave him because of Mary, I needed to by a king, and make decisions to benefit the whole kingdom.

I exited my house and got into my car, driving to Neplèa, to see Kellen.
I walked up the steps and knocked.

Kellen answered and he grinned at me, and took me into a hug.

" Matthew." He said greeting an old friend.

" Hello." I said and he led my inside to the back door, where we descended to his garden.

" What brings you here today?" He asked and I was about to speak before he cut me off. " Come to ask about my beautiful date." He said looking proud.

" As much as I'd love to discuss, your date," I said disgusted. " we have more pressing issues." I said and he looked at me concerned.

" Is it about our alliance, because no matter what Margo says, I will never let that go." He said defensively.

" Margo?" I asked, but dropped it as soon as possible knowing I could not let her in my mind and cloud my judgment. " I'm going to war, and I need you to aid my mother as I'm gone. Help her lead the kingdom." I said and he stopped walking.

" You are going to war?" He said solemnly, hoping it wouldn't be true.

" I am, yes, and I need you to look out for my mother and my kingdom." I said.

" God Matthew." He said laughing nervously. " Stop growing up so fast, I can't catch up at this point." He said running a hand through his hair.

" Will you?" I asked and he nodded not able to maintain eye contact.

" Of course." He said not knowing what to say. " I can't let you do this by yourself." He said and I looked ahead of me to the assortments of flowers.

" How have you been?" I asked changing subject.

" Great, I've found myself a girl and I'm pretty sure I'm going to go places with her." He said and I nodded. Biting my tongue.

" That's good." I said nodding.

" Oh she's wonderful, smart, beautiful, fun." He said swooning. " Oh she is perfect." He said smiling like an idiot.

" Great." I said annoyed.

" You would love her even though-"

" I get it." I finally snapped and he stopped, and stared at me offended. " I'm sorry," I sighed. " I'm just so stressed." I said and his facial expression changed immediately and it turned to sympathy.

I so as goodbye to Kellen and drove to the hospital, to see my dad.

I walked into his room and shit the door after the nurse left.

" Hey dad." I said pulling a chair close to the side of the bed. " I've been managing well." I said formally. " But I'm going to war now, for nolea, and before you have a heart attack and die, it's for Harrison. He is alive dad." I said crying.

" I've lost him once and I won't again, and I won't lose you." I said. " You have to fight. I am. So you have to too." I said grabbing his hand and squeezing it tightly. " Please dad, you need to wake up while I'm gone and tell the kingdoms that Harrison is alive and being held captive by nolea." I said hopefully.

" Dad, I'm sorry for the trouble." I said coughing, to try to conceal my cries. " Please, just fight for us." I said and I left.

I rode home, the drive seemed way too short at the moment.
I didn't want to be home, and be reminded of everything all at once.
Everything I might lose.

My whole family would never understand and, I would never be able to explain enough, and come up with enough excuses to make it sound okay.
Unless I told the truth.

The thought crossed my mind many times, but I could not risk my brother, I lost him once before I couldn't again.

I exited sky car and into the house.

My mother was no where to be found and Anna sat on the balcony.

I walked out to see her and she say with tear stained cheeks.

" Matthew, you can't do this." She said and I sighed and sat down next to her on the bench, where she then leaned into me, and I comforted her.

" Anna, I have to." I whispered and she bit her lip.

" What if I never see you again, your seventeen. Not a war hero." She said and I shook my head. " Matthew, you are such a hero here, you don't need to prove yourself anymore then you have." She said and I looked down to my death and rubbed my knee.

She grabbed my face and made me look at her. " Matthew, your mother thinks of you as her hero, you've saved her from so many things you wouldn't understand. Your kingdom thinks of you as there God, someone who is always there to benefit them." She said. " They can't afford to lose you, they wouldn't know what to do." She said and she kissed me on the cheek. " Let me leave you to think about that." She said leaving.

She wouldn't understand because she doesn't know the truth.
But what about my mother, she is losing my father and has lost my brother.
What if she lost me?

She won't.

My mind quickly retorted.

My brother needs me, I can't have second thoughts.
