Rumia would float above two extravagant parasols planted into the sands below.
She was T-posing in her small and frilly black swimsuit with her cherry amulet still on her chest and at the side of her short blonde hair, grinning widely in her visible red eyes of delighted glow.
She just soared right past Remilia Scarlet, who sat gracefully in her lounge chair under one parasol.
Remilia was with her sister Flandre Scarlet, who stayed under the shadow casted by the same parasol whilst burying a snoring Hong Meiling in the sand.
The second lounge chair meekly kneeled Patchouli Knowledge, who was reading her book calmly while her assistant Koakuma prepared the sunscreen from the bags they brought.
"So you say, Remi," Patchouli started, causing Remilia to avert her gaze calmly to her librarian friend. "that we shall enjoy this beach as we wish to."
"Yes, I did say that, Patchy." Remilia replied as she received a cup of tea offered by her head maid Sakuya Izayoi, standing right beside her chair. "Why do you ask?"
"By enjoy, you meant that rather we just sit here and watch the other humans and youkai have their own fun?" Patchouli finally asked with an awkward sweatdrop.
"Of course! The other humans and youkai can certainly enjoy this beach for us," Remilia answered, smirking eagerly. "We just have to simply sit and watch. Is there anything wrong with that, Patchy?"
"If I just then came here to sit and read, I wouldn't have left the library as that would've been the same thing..." Patchouli muttered, sighing and burying her gaze fully into her book.
"P-Patchouli-sama! Please allow me to put on sunscreen on you!" Koakuma pleaded obediently, smiling at the asthmatic magician with a bottle of sunscreen.
"Now, Koakuma, why would you want to do that-...?" Patchouli complained softly, her reluctant eyes peeking over the book that hid the rest of her face.
"But Patchouli-sama, it's for your health! I wouldn't want Patchouli-sama to get hit by the heat!" Koakuma blurted out anxiously.
"We're under a parasol, Koakuma. Even if there's a likely chance the heat will land slightly on my skin, I'll simply not move out from under the parasol, and I especially know better than to lay your bare hands on my back to your heart's content. I might as well have skin reactions from the sunscreen itself." Patchouli scolded with a lecturing look.
"B-But... P-Patchouli... sa... sama... f-fu— e-eeehhh-?!..." Koakuma fumbled profusely, almost teary-eyed at her loss of words.
"Hmph... you might as well drive youkai away from annoying me as I read," Patchouli huffed softly.
"Come now, Patchy. You needn't be so strict to your library familiar. In fact, she's right, you mustn't be too stubborn to refuse taking sunscreen as you truly need it," Remilia remarked a little jokingly.
"That reminds me, my lady. I too shall be the honor to properly set that of the sunscreen on your skin," Sakuya requested politely.
"Ah, no, I suggest Flandre be the first to your aid, Sakuya. She is younger than I am after all." Remilia dismissed almost immediately.
So she doesn't want to be put on with sunscreen for her either, both Patchouli and Sakuya shared the same awkward thoughts.
"Eeehh-?!... Onee-sama, that's so unfair! You're such a hypocrite!" Flandre Scarlet whined aloud, causing a few sands to explode in the distance nearby with just her strength and tantrum.
"Hmph, am not! You should be more thankful of your older sister, Flandre, and anyway I am offering you this chance to become safer with the help of sunscreen," Remilia insisted just as stubbornly.
