"Good grief..." Youmu Konpaku sighed as she cooked mochis by the beachy shore.
Not long, her master Yuyuko Saigyouji would approach the dear gardener.
The pink-haired ghost princess seemed to be smiling in a good mood today, if a bit hungrily at the cooked mochi.
Both of them had worn swimming attire, Youmu wore her green swimsuit with an apron over her clothes, and Yuyuko was dressed in a blue, frilly swimsuit with a long jacket hanging over it, almost like a dress.
"Wow, Youmu, that looks so tasty~!" Yuyuko giggled as care-freely as she was.
Youmu nodded obediently. "The food is indeed almost done to being cooked, Yuyuko-sama."
Much through her submissive facade, Youmu would only grimace at her current situation however.
I get that it's hot and all, Youmu thought sullenly, tilting her head slightly in regret.
but did Yuyuko-sama really have to volunteer us into a random swim in a nowhere ocean, dressed in indecent swimwear-?!...
Her floaty ghost half, not long enough, would circle around her and nuzzle cozily close to her cheek.
The ghost half was sweating a little like Youmu was under the current heat.
Well, Youmu assumed. I guess if Yuyuko-sama had to be invited by her close friend, the gap youkai, then surely she'd come along as natural kind gesture of their friendship...
Just then, the same ghost half floating by her would notice briefly that Yuyuko was nowhere to be seen.
The ghost half nudges Youmu lightly to inform her, and the half phantom gardener snaps out of her thoughts, realizing in her alarm.
"Y... Y-Yuyuko-sama-?! W-Where did you go?!" Youmu gasped in her panic, glancing around frantically, as her ghost half, too, searches for her ditzy master.
The ghost half finds her first and warns the gardener.
Apparently Yuyuko turned out to be dancing around aimlessly in the beach waters afar, as though she seemed high.
"Y-Yuyuko-sama..." Youmu muttered awkwardly.
Youmu gave a sweatdrop, so did her ghost half, and the both of them shortly neared towards the shore to approach the ghost princess, soon arriving.
Meanwhile Reimu Hakurei and Marisa Kirisame both just stepped out of the ocean and crossed over the sandy shore again.
Both girls casually approach the temporary, beach-fitting kitchen stand where mochis were almost just fully done cooking themselves.
"Hey, a mochi, ze~!" Marisa smiled as she quickly grabbed a stick of cooked mochi.
"Wasn't Youmu just cooking these and saving them for her master Yuyuko?" Reimu pointed out skeptically.
The two friends lifted their heads and glanced over to the beach ocean in the distance.
Youmu frantically struggled to bring a dancing and playing Yuyuko back to the shore to eat and enjoy the newly mochi she prepared.
"Y-Yuyuko-sama! The mochis are cooked and ready by no— EEYAHH-!" Youmu's voice rang aloud.
It seems that Youmu had stumbled and was clumsily pulled into the ocean.
"Ara, Youmu~ let's swim and have fun together!" Yuyuko's voice sang happily.
"N-No, Yuyuko-sama...! I just tripped!" Youmu's voice called out again. "EEK, Y-YUYUKO-SAMA! DON'T EAT MY GHOST HALF AGAIN! STOOOP!"
Both Reimu and Marisa watched the awkward scene in a deadpanning silence, sharing the same dull and almost facepalming stare.
"...Yep, I guess we just eat ahead and leave them be to their shenanigans, then."
"...I absolutely agree with that, ze."
So both girls each took a bite from their sticks of cooked mochi, eating and chewing on just as casually.
As they ate, they decided to watch the unnatural encountering of Yuyuko and Youmu back at the ocean, simply for their entertainment.
I wonder if we should give those phantoms some of this mochi ourselves, Marisa pondered, chewing.
Afterwards the double-tailed, neko shikigami Chen would come running excitedly towards the table of cooked mochi.
Chen appeared to be wearing a frilly red and green swimsuit with a bow on it, as she headed nearer to the same table and grabbed a stick of mochi to happily munch on.
"Ah, right, the shikigami of Yukari are here after all," Marisa mused briefly in awe.
Reimu raised an eyebrow. "Is a cat even supposed to be in a place like this beach?"
"No, but it's as the Miss Magician said," Chen grinned, busily chewing on a mouthful of food. "I'm the shikigami of Ran-sama, and Ran-sama is the shikigami of Yukari-sama, so that's why I'm here!"
"Ehh... you seem to be awfully enjoying yourself just fine though, ze," Marisa mentioned keenly.
"I do wish you enjoyment of this very day as well," said a much more mature and calmer, grown feminine voice.
Reimu and Marisa turn their gazes to the approaching individual, while Chen continued to enjoy her mochi.
"Hakurei shrine maiden, human magician." politely said Ran Yakumo, the taller fox shikigami of Yukari, finally showing up in the scene.
Reimu observed as the fox shikigami, much like the others, also dressed in swimming attire of her own.
Her attire was simply that of a white, purple bikini, along with some thick and long, stylish robes over her rather revealing swimwear.
"Heh, thanks for the kind remark, ze~!" Marisa flashes a toothy grin back at the fox shikigami.
"By the way, where is your master Yukari, anyway?" Reimu inquired with a slightly puzzled look.
Both Ran Yakumo and Chen gestured over to the gap youkai, Yukari Yakumo, who was typically sleeping on a lounge chair under an umbrella that shielded her from the sun.
A few bags of belongings and such sat by the lounge chair on the insufferable, sandy grounds.
"Ah." said Reimu.
