Quick Disclaimer: In my ideal Harry Potter world, Peter never betrays them because I really love his character before he betrays the Marauders, and I feel like he needs to be included.
Remus and Sirius were in love. They both knew it, and no one else did. Except for Peter, who was surprisingly good at picking up social cues, even if he didn't use them. Peter had promised not to tell anyone, and he stuck to that promise. They were lucky that James was a bit clueless when it came to things like love. I mean, come on, he had been chasing the same girl for 6 years. Remus and Sirius would meet up in empty classrooms and snog when they knew no one would see them. They hadn't told Peter, he had just found out by watching their interactions with each other. So it was a normal day, and Remus kissed Sirius on the cheek before they went down for breakfast. Lily sidled up next to them and whispered "I know you two are snogging, but I promise not to tell anyone." She laughed and walked over to James, who kissed her on the cheek. James smiled up at Lily, and pulled her down to sit next to him. The group started talking about everything from Quidditch to Transfiguration, when the subject of dating finally came up.
"So, Moony, who have you been seeing?" James asked Remus the question and look expectingly at him.
"Um... Well... No one really..." Remus turned red, and James, who was still clueless as to what was going on, turned to Sirius.
"So, Padfoot, how about you? Got anyone special?" It was Sirius's turn to go red, and Lily was trying desperately to contain her laughter. Finally, Peter said, or almost screamed,
"James! Are you completely clueless? They're dating each other!" Lily burst out laughing at that point as James looked confusedly from one person to the next.
"No! Really? I mean, that's totally cool, I just can't believe it!" James was looking a little wild as he searched their faces to see if they were pranking him. With that, Sirius pulled Remus towards him and kissed him full on the mouth. Several people whistled and yelled obscene things at the two. James looked completely convinced now, and he leant over with his hand outstretched to give them both high fives.
"Alright! Moony and Padfoot! You have my blessing!" He yelled this before pulling Lily in for a long kiss. Sirius kissed Remus some more, and the group headed off for class together.
