Xiao's pov

I was at home waiting for Venti to come back from his shopping spree.
I decided I'd call him since he has been gone for 2 hours and I was starting to feel worried.

Before I could even call him I got a call for him instead.

"Venti, where are you? It's been 2 hours since you left and it's almost night."

"Hehe sorry xiao *cough cough* i might take longer to come home than expected.."

"Should I come pick you up? You seem like you're sick and your voice is raspy."

"Nah i-its fine i don't want to trouble you..."

"Venti you won't trouble me its fine anyways" i say getting the car key

"N-no it's fine"

"Venti please just come outside i'll be there in 20 minutes-"

I froze after i heard a shooting noise on the other side of the call

"Venti what's going on." i said in a stern voice

"....I-its nothing xiao"

"Venti don't tell me it's what i think it is..." i say as i run to my car and turn it on while panicking

"Venti are you safe? Where are you hidden? You aren't injured right!?" i start driving to the mall where venti is

"Xiao..i-it's no use you'll get caught in the shooting if you come! You might die for god sake just stay home!" he said while he was quite panicked but i didn't care i cant let venti die.

I contact the police telling them of what's happening at *------------* mall

"Venti i don't care i'm coming to get you and i called the police there on their way. Tell me where your hiding"

"Xiao..i already got shot... Half of the people have already died or got injured just let the police handle it..."

I couldn't believe what I heard.

Venti got shot?

The boy I loved so much was gonna die.

I felt tears threatening to come out of my eyes and i fasten the speed of the car to get there quicker

"Xiao, I just want you to know I love you so, so much you know that?"

"Of course, i love you too....just hang on venti i'm coming" i say as i get closer to my destination

I start to hear sirens from the other side

"Venti, are the police there...?"

"......"

"Venti?" once i didn't get a response i started to get panicked

"Venti are you there"

"Answer me god dammit it!" i said as i start to feel tears sliding down my face

Once I get there I go up to a policeman and start asking questions on venti and where he is.

"Calm down sir, please tell me what this individual looks like."

"He's about my height but a little taller. He has two braids and his hair is black but the tips of his braid are a turquoise color."

He points to an ambulance van where I see Venti and I quickly run over there even with the police protesting not to.

My eyes widen as I look at him.

By the looks of it he had been shot 2 times in the stomach and one time on his left hand.

He looked badly injured and seemed to have lost a lot of blood

He must have passed out from blood loss..

A nurse came up to me and asked if i knew this person

"Yes I'm his... boyfriend" I say as I don't take my eyes off of Venti's beautiful face.

"He's alright don't worry" she says as she tries to comfort me.

After a while I find myself in a hospital pacing back and forth waiting for the news hoping venti will be fine.

"Excuse me sir, are you here for Venti?"

"Yes, yes I am, is he alright? He's not dead..right?" i say concerned obviously lacing off my tongue

"Well he's doing fine and is breathing, but... his body needs time to heal and rest...he's in a coma but we aren't sure when he will wake up"

I start to panic

What if he dies while he's in a coma?

What if he forgets about me?

What if-

"We do have an estimate of 2 months but it could take longer then that" the nurse said taking me out of my thoughts

"..thank you" is say as i go into the room and hold venti's hand

He looks perfect even if he's injured.

I sit down on the chair beside his bed and start to stare at him.I promise even if it took years for you to wake up, I'll visit you every single day.

Few months later

i'm at a coffee shop the apparently is the best one in the city

while drinking my my coffee my phone starts to ring

I see that its from the hospital

"Hello we have some news regarding venti, do you have time to visit the hospital-"

"I should be there in 20 minutes" i say as i quickly leave to go to my car not caring about the looks i'm getting "Alright then we'll be waiting for your arrival"

I end the call as i drive towards the hospital thinking of what happend to venti

Did he...

No! 

don't think such silly things he said he would stay with me forever

he would never lie

....

Before i knew it i was at the hospital

I get out of my car and i go inside the hospital to venti's room

Room number 13

"I'm glad you're here now to discuss about venti, he woke up today but his memory seems to be hazy"

After hearing that my heart drops

W-what if he forgot....

Me?

I continue to listen even tho i feel a throbbing pain in my heart

"He doesn't seem to remember the shooting or what happened there. since only 3 people hardly survived, including your boyfriend. I think it's better we don't remind him of such traumatizing events. We will ask the other 2 patients what they remember and if your boyfriend ever does remember the events please do bring him here."

"Of course but who were the other 2 patients?" i asked

I felt happy Venti didn't forget me nor did he die but I felt curious about who those 2 people were since 1287 people died in the shooting and only 3 survived.

"A 6 year old child whose parents died in the shooting and a 12 year old who's adopted parents died.

I felt sorry for the kids..

having to lose them at such a young age

"may i go see venti?"

"Mhm sure go ahead but do be careful as he had just woken up"

"I will" after i say that i go into venti's room

"Hm- oh! Hello xiao how have you been? Any idea on why i'm in the hospital?"

"Oh I'm doing fine and you got badly injured and you were sent to the hospital."

"Oh that's strange, I don't remember the event.. Anyway, how long have I been here for?"

"For a few months.."

"A FEW MONTHS!? I really must have been injured badly huh..."

"Yea..."

I go ahead and start to hug venti missing his cuddles and kisses

"Ehe~ you must have been reeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaally lonely without me"

"Yea.."

"I love you xiao"

I blush at that"

"I love you too venti"
