We found a store close to the house. Luckily, we haven't ran into any walkers so far so that is a relief. Carl and I went inside while Kayden and Elijah stayed on guard outside. The store was completely stocked with different necessitys but most aisles had things missing. Probably some other group that had been here.

Carl and I ran to the food aisle and picked out some cereal (that was probably expired by now), some fruits that looked healthly enough, some vegetables that didn't have anything wrong with them, and some canned meats.

"Something isn't right," I suddenly spoke up ", isn't there supposed to be walkers in here?"

"Well I guess so but they couldn't really get through the door since you have to pull it for it to open. Maybe they are on another aisle away from us. I totally agree with you though." Carl answered.

      "Right," I agreed grimly.

All of a sudden, I looked up because I heard the door open. Carl followed where I had looked and shouted, "Who's there!"

We pulled out our guns and walked to the front of the store. Kayden and Elijah were walking toward us and then stopped.

"Whoa, Whoa, Whoa. It's just us." Elijah said with his hands up.

We put our guns back on our belts.

"So what'd you get? Elijah asked.

Carl laid the food out on the floor. "Some apples, cereal, carrots, and Spam."

Elijah nodded, "Okay let's get out of here." Kayden walked back towards the door.

"No we need to stay here and rest for a little while." Carl said wrapping his left arm around me. My eyes widened for a second and then I blushed as my heart fluttered because of his touch.

Elijah looked down for about two seconds and then back up at Carl. "Fine, but just for a little while the walkers will be coming soon." He tried to wrap his arm around Kayden but she just moved away. I heard her thought and then smirked at it. What if this is our last day on earth? What if this is my last chance to fall in love? She moved over to stand beside him again.

"Okay then, Anna and I will be over here if you guys need anything." Carl summed up as he grabbed my hand, my heart beat sped up in my chest again, we walked to the aisle away from Kayden and Elijah. I listened to the rest of Kayden and Elijah's conversation through Kayden's mind.

"Are you really trying to mock Carl? They are a perfect match. That is how they started to like each other so fast and you know it!" Kayden scolded Elijah.

"N...no I just... I just really like you Kayden." Elijah stuttered.

"Oh." I knew Kayden felt embarrassed. "Well... I guess I kind of like you too."

"Really?" Elijah smiled. Kayden rolled her eyes, "Come on." Then they walked a couple of aisles down from where Carl and I were.

"So how long have you been here?" I asked Carl snapping out of my thoughts... well Kayden's.

"At least five years. Fighting all of those walkers... I have been through a lot in the past few." Carl answered, smirking.

I processed this, I have only been in the apocalypse for three years. Probably because we were in different parts of Georgia.

"Wow that's a long time." I said "While you and your group were fighting walkers, I was on a trip with my friends and family. We were on a tour and then walkers started coming out of nowhere. We got out before any of us got attacked and started living in the woods for the past three years. We've had a great life except for the fact of the walkers and no... boyfriends but still." I smiled.
