"Guys... it's time you all should know this now. I have been keeping this from you for a very, very long time now and you all deserve to know who you really are." There was a moment of silence before everybody glanced at each other trying to suppress their laughter.
"Yes Taeyong, we need to know who we really are." Johnny added mischievously, but for some reason, I wondered why Taeyong looked down while I expected him to laugh.
He laughed a little and said "of-course... that's what I thought... I'll show you all and then you tell me who we really are and yes."
He sighed.
"Guys, why do you think I chose you all to come with me all along? I could have just lived happily finding a family, right?'' We looked at each other. "You chose us after it was our decision to run away from the orphanage. You found us and decided to help us." Said Ten.
"But then why would I not help more people when they would run away?"
"Maybe because we were enough ?" said Jisung with absolutely confused eyes and a scrunched nose. Taeyong raised his hand to slap him but ended up scratching his nape.
"Guys, I'll show you something." He said as he got up and went to the tv so everyone could see him properly, he slightly pushed in front his ear, shifting his hair back and there was a gorgeous tattoo of a golden Phoenix right in the crook where the ear starts. It wasn't very big and hardly noticeable from a distance. Only about a centimetre and a half.
"Whoa! when did you get this done?" asked Chenle
Taeyong smiled "Exactly. I didn't. I was born with it." He went close to Chenle holding his chin with his slender fingers and whispering to him "and guess what. You have it too." Chenle gasped and asked all of us to shift his hair back and show the back of his ear. He saw all of our faces and I was speechless. Chenle had it too.
"I, hAVE it???" Chenle screamed in pure happiness and everyone checked for themselves asking each other. Mark too. Except me...
I didn't know what it meant. I didn't know what it might signify, a part of me was scared to know if it was there. In fact, if I didn't have it, did it mean I wouldn't belong here?
"Can I see yours?" asked Mark Hyung. I just looked at him. not knowing what to say. He slowly turned towards me, making me face the wall behind and shifting my hair behind so softly my heart almost skipped a beat.
"It's beautiful," he says. And I still couldn't look at mine. But I noticed one thing. Everyone's phoenix was unique but not exactly the same.
\ Taeyong Hyung's was pure gold with silver linings across the wings but the eye had golden outlines which signified something different. Mark Hyung's, Chenle's and everyone else's were golden with the same silver outline including the eye of the Phoenix.
Why was only Taeyong Hyung's, golden?
I realized and said, "Hyung... does the golden eye signify our leader?" Taeyong Hyung nodded.
"T-taeyong I'm sorry, I- I-" Johnny tried to speak. Taeyong just smiled. Everyone was left speechless. I didn't think such things existed. Who did?!...right?..
This is like a movie.
