19 - The beginning

We entered behind Taeyong in a line. We had never seen a squad that was this particular. I didn't get it. Living with friends, yet treating each other like newcomers and bowing every now and then? It was exhausting to watch.

We entered in a line before leader Choi Soobin came into sight. He was wearing a suit and asked us to continue by gesturing with his hands.

God this was so irritating. I wouldn't have come here if not for my siblings.

Taeyong bowed and cleared his throat but didn't say anything yet. There was a silence before Soobin said "get out" in a soft voice that still sent shivers down my spine.

Taeyong eyed Jaehyun and that's when he remembered he had to do the talk.

"sorry. Mr. Choi, we have come here to get your permission to kill the Basilisks in the upcoming war and whether we kill them, or only injure them, they can still attack us at whatever opportunity they might get, which is our only concern. We have family members kidnapped by them and they do not seem to return the members at any cost. Our squad strongly thinks that the only solution to this is to wage war against them. Not only us but whichever squad agrees with us. Like Exo. The Centaurs. We will wait for your permission no longer than 3 hours Mr. Choi, and then we wouldn't have a choice but to wage war against them."

Taeyong hissed hearing that by Jaehyun thinking he shouldn't have said the last part.

And everyone heard him inhale finally.

"First of all, if I do not give you permission within 3 hours, you would anyways kill them, you said, so why take my permission? And second, I have no concerns about the family whoever's trapped in there, just be sure that they're already dead by now and move on."

I could feel my blood boil in an immense amount of rage inside of me!

My eyes almost gave out.

"I completely agree that the family is none of your concerns, Mr. Choi, but it is not only about them. It is about our home. We cannot leave our place at any cost. The Basilisks have been wanting to capture our place for many years and you know that. So why not come up with a solution to finally end this argument?"

Jaehyun looked frustrated, only we could guess that but completely calm from the outside.

"So let's do one thing. Tell me why they want your place?"

"Because Seoul is the biggest city of Korea, and all they want is nothing but fame amongst all the squads all over the world, but not the public. They want Seoul because it has the biggest casino from which they could have their share. They want this, for money."

"And what about you? Why won't you leave this place, not that I'm asking you to, but generally."

"Because we were born in this place, and brought up in this place. We have had all of our memories, good ones, and bad ones, in that same home, and we are not going to leave it. And one more thing. We get the perfect amount of share from the casino if you look at the number of members we are. If the Basilisks take over this place, they will get the same price as us. But they are less in number, they will receive a huge amount of money which the squads are not allowed to receive. As per the squad norms, it's illegal and against the squad law 138'."

"Hmm.."

There were moments of silence again. It was killing us from inside!

"A war of death it is then. The better squad wins and claims his place. We will inform the Basilisks about this war. I will give you not more than 3 weeks to prepare as I see your members have already introduced themselves, I assume."
