Chapter 5

     "Welcome back!" "Thanks so much everyone!"I replied. I was already tearing up at the gesture, they must've taken so long to plan this big surprise party for me. My smile grew as I looked around at everyone, all my friends were there! Even some of the shop owners I knew when I was a kid. I greeted everyone, making sure to say thank you for this big event. By the time I got to the last people though, I realized that one person was not there. Someone who was probably one of the people that I wanted to see the most...

                                   Eren....

--------------------------- 10 mins before-------------------------

     "Mikasa's back?!" "Of course Eren! Sasha told us all in the group chat, do you not check your phone..." "Wait no, of course I do... I checked it this morning!" I replied, I didn't actually but I couldn't let him know that he was actually right about that. "Liar! She told us yesterday that she was coming back. Ugh, what are we going to do with you... We can't even contact you!" "You don't worry about that, I'ma buy a present for her. And I need to ask my girlfriend if she wants to go."

      "Eren! I keep telling you, you should break up with her. She's really toxic and I think shes actually lesbian. Not straight or bisexual!" "Hey, Armin. I love her, and besides I've been with her for a while... I can't just break up with her!" "Fine, just don't blame me when she reveals to you that she's actually lesbian, and that she doesn't like you anymore" "Fine!" I sighed as I walked off, sure I did sense it a little bit that my girlfriend might be bisexual. But its not like she would cheat on me, she hasn't yet. That should be a clear sign that she still likes me... Right?

    Tho I would never really know since this is my first relationship. I don't know much about any of that. I hopped into my car, trying to think of what she might like. I mean I probably shouldn't get anything too fancy. Shes just coming back, it's not the hugest deal.

---------------------------He finally arrived at his house--------------------------------------

     Ok, I think I know what I should get her! Hopefully she likes it... I stepped into my house, ready to be greeted by my girlfriend. "Honey, I'm home!" *whispered voices"Hes back, come on... act normal".  "Hey, how was hanging out with Armin?" "It was fun, did you bring someone over?" "Oh yeah, just my coworker. Shes upstairs going to the bathroom. She'll be down soon since she has something to do soon." "Oh, ok. I just need to pick up a present for a friend, but do you want to come with me to a welcome party?" "Oh, for who?" "Just an old childhood friend. Shes just back from living in the city for a few years." "Oh, cool! Sure I'll come, you go first though. I'll arrive later because I need to accompany my coworker to her place so I can use her car to get there." "Sure... I'ma just pick up a present for her, see ya!"

      As I approached my car, I realized... She doesn't have a coworker. She operates a small business for women's clothing... why would she have a "coworker" over... I shook the thought out of my head. No she can't be lesbian, shes been with me for so long and that's the only time I've caught a lie like that. I sighed at my mistrust, I should trust her. Besides she would never cheat on me.

    I drove over to an animal shelter, Mikasa always loved animals. Maybe I could find something from here as a welcome present. looking around I finally found a really cute bird! She's always loved birds, and then it could accompany her for a long time. Some birds can live for a while. I adopted the bird then started driving over to Sasha's house for the party. Shoot I was going to be late.

I mentally slapped myself for this small mistake. Sasha is a fanatic about being on time. If I'm late and she knows that I'm coming from Armin she will be mad. But at least I can use the bird as an excuse I guess. I finally arrived at Sasha's house, parking at the very end of the long line of cars. I walked as fast as I could, trying not to be late.

After finally arriving at her house I slipped through the backyard gate into the big welcome party. I looked around for Mikasa, finally finding her greeting a guest. I walked over to them, waiting till they finished talking. Once the guest started walking away I greeted Mikasa...

"Hey Mikasa, haven't seen you in a while!"

A/n

I probably won't post everyday though cause some days I'm really busy. But I will try to be consistent with posting. By the way I'm writing this on 10/15/22... I will try to post this tomorrow(10/16/22) but we'll see how long that lasts.
