Under the Moonlight Sky

Chapter 8

"Welcome to the mall..." I gasped as I walked into the extravagant mall that presented itself before me. I had never been in a mall this fancy, not even back where I lived before there was nothing this fancy. It really shocked me that there could be anything this fancy, especially in a small town like this. I looked around at the fancy mall, Sasha standing behind me with an "I told you so" face.

The outside of the mall looks shabby, there was paint peeling off, and it had an old broken down sign telling you where you were. But once you walk past that, and the wooden door that frames the entrance to it, you will find the most extravagant mall you've ever seen. There were marble floors, with a huge water fountain including carved animals and a small cupid baby. Around you were walls with almost museum styled paintings on them. Tall golden pillars held the building up. And when you look up, it's like teleportation to another world.

A beautiful sea the sand, everything a rich blue. A huge almost glowing tree stood in the middle, illuminating everything around it. There was also a little girl in the painting, she stood looking towards the tree. The painting was so realistic that it felt as if you had teleported to another realm.

I stood in awe at the beautiful painting before Sasha nudged me on the shoulder, signaling that they were moving on. I quickly caught up to them before taking the time to look around even more. It was such a pretty place, like right out of a movie. The shops that it had were different though. They seemed to fit the small town this place is. It was like a normal mall, with kinda affordable things. Places like Macy's, or Nordstorm. To be honest though, all the shops looked out of place in the big fancy mall.

After walking for a little bit we finally arrived at another area of shops. It had a different feel from the rest of the mall. Everything seemed a little bit more cutesy. Like Sanrio type shops. It also had a bunch of cool restaurants and dessert places. My eyes widened when I saw all the shops, "This place is so cool!"I exclaimed. "See, this is why I dragged you along. It's such a cool place here!"Sasha proudly exclaimed. A smug look filled her face. I sighed at her pettiness.

"Well, anyways though..." Annie finally said "There's one place that we wanted to show you... We thought you might like it..." They took me over to a small shop. It sold boba, mochi donuts and a lot of cute toys. After examining it, I got confused. "Why did you guys want to show me this place? It's just a normal shop". "You'll see once you get inside". I looked at them, still confused, before walking into the shop. It seemed like the normal type of shop. Same things anywhere else would sell.

As I finally walked into the heart of the shop though. I saw what they really wanted to show me. It was Levi working at the front counter! He was ringing up a customer. I chuckled as I walked over, very much amused at the funny sight of him wearing a pink sanrio uniform. After finishing up ringing up the last customer in line he finally saw me. "Hey Mikasa! Do you like the new shop, the owner was looking for employees and he thought of me. He also knew that I didn't have the best job so he invited me to work here. At least until I can find a better job." "Well it's definitely a good job... but were not going to talk about that?" I said, pointing as his uniform. "What?" He asked, confused.

"Never-mind..."I said,I didn't want to make him mad so I didn't talk about his uniform much more. "How do you like this job?"I asked, trying to steer the topic away. "Oh it's good.." We got to talk a little more, mostly just me asking how he liked it here. And how he got the job. After a little bit of talking though he had to get back to his job, he couldn't slack off for that long or he might get fired. That wouldn't benefit anyone.

After We finished talking, I went back outside to join my friends. "How was it? Did you like your surprise?" "Yeah... I guess I should thank you guys for taking me here though... So, thanks". After I thanked them, they all smiled, a satisfied grin on their faces. Like they had just completed a big mission successfully. "Well anyways though,"Sasha said, breaking the silence"that's not the only reason why we're here. We're also going to meet up with the rest of them, connie, Eren, Jean and Eren's girlfriend." "Where are we all meeting up?" I asked. "You'll see" Sasha replied.

We started walking out of the little cutesy section of the mall that we were in. We passed by lots of grand halls, and lots of interesting stores. "I'll have to come back here again sometime" I thought "I need to explore this whole mall. It seems so cool!". Eventually we arrived at a Dave & Busters. It was a huge one, with a huge grand restaurant and a place to play games. I smiled at the sight, remembering the old Dave & Busters I used to play at with my friends when I was little. It used to be here, but they tore it down for housing apparently.

"This is where we wanted to take you." Sasha exclaimed. "We thought you might like it and we've had lots of fun memories here..." Annie commented.

A/n

I know this isn't the best ending but it is one. I didn't really have time to make a cliff hanger ending but I guess that it is kinda good since I probably won't be updating till next week.
