Chapter 9
I looked up and saw a blurry outline of a man. I used the back of my hand to wipe the tears from my eyes, so I could get a better view of the person. It was Jamie. He was looking at me with concern. He waited until I was left hiccupping. "Hey. You wanna talk about anything?" he said softly. I looked at his face and took a deep breath trying to calm down. I didn't think twice, either because the crying clouded my mind, or because I really needed to tell someone now, I spilled. I told him everything, about him, about the baby, about the wedding, why I moved, even about my mixed feelings about Josh and what happened before. I let out a huge sigh and felt like 20 tons had just been lifted off my shoulders. I looked over at Jamie and he looked at me thoughtfully. "Wow, I'm sorry Danica, I didn't know. Wow.... Hey I have an idea" he said, looking sad then cheerful. "What?" I asked simply confused at his random statement. "Come on" he said, grabbing my hand and lifting me up from the grassy floor. Confused I followed him into town.
Guess were he took me, after I poured my heart and soul into his trust. Granny Anne's Ice Cream Parlor. Yepp, he took me to an ice-cream parlor. It smelled wonderful in here, like hot fudge, sugar, and about a million ice-cream flavors, but in a totally mouth watering way. I just stared crazily at him as he ordered two double mint chocolate chip with whipped cream on top. He carried the two bowls of outrageously sized ice cream bowls, to a booth in the corner. I slid in the, surprisingly comfortable, booth seat and Jamie sat across from me. He slid the bowl to me and said," You have got to try this D; it's the best ice-cream ever. Seriously it's going to make you forget all your troubles", he said smiling. I grabbed a spoon and glanced at Jamie, who spent no time wasted on his ice-cream (And was supporting a nice whip cream mustache). I shoveled a spoon full of the creamy ice-cream into my mouth. I swear I moaned in ecstasy. The chocolate chips melted in my mouth, and the mint ice-cream gave an unexplainable cool taste that numbed my taste buds, the heavy whipped cream was fluffy and creamy, and just amazing! All in all, the Best. Ice-cream. Ever. I quickly savored each spoonful of the sweet, sweet dessert. I even licked the bowl clean. "Whoa, do you feel better?" I nodded and lay back rubbing my, now full tummy. "That, was delicious!" I said. He laughed, "I told you, best ice-cream ever", he smirked then turned serious, "D, you know I'm here for you, and you could tell me everything" I looked at him, and he looked really sincere. I sighed and looked around. There was a small family of four on the other side of the shop, talking and laughing to themselves, and there was a young couple on the stools sharing a milkshake. I looked back at Jamie and he still had that look on his face. \
"Jamie, I really want to tell you, like soo bad, but I promised myself that I wouldn't tell anyone about what happened in my past", he sighed loudly and said," D, I know you want to do that, but you cant go on with life without solving your past, and getting over whatever your going through", he picked up the bowls and threw them away, and stayed standing up looking down at me. "Want to take a walk?"
