Two large hands lightly wrapped themselves around my waist and I felt a nose snuggle and soft kisses being pelted into the nape of my neck making me jump.
I slammed the refrigerator door shut in a hassle and turned around to face a very sleep doused Abhimanyu standing there in nothing but a pair of shorts, looking extremely delectable in his ruffled morning hair.
"It's just me." He replied, softly, trying to hold back his laugh as he wrapped his hands around my waist and pulled me up close to him.
He then planted a huge no-so-chaste and very inappropriately passionate kiss on my lips. I wrapped my hands around his neck, rising up on the tip of my toes in a bid to get closer to him.
I felt his weight shift as he pushed me against the refrigerator door, prolonging the kiss. I could feel his fingers digging into my skin through the thin material of my shirt as I ran my fingers through the back of his hair, in a bid of wanting more.
"I could get used to mornings like this." He said, pulling away from me, leaving us both breathless.
I felt my cheeks turning tomato red at his words. Abhimanyu Birla may not be a talker but when he did talk, he made everyone else speechless.
Like now.
"Hmmm," was all I could muster up, in agreement.
I was still pushed up against the refrigerator, caged in his big arms.
"You weren't there when I woke up." He spoke first, a hint of disappointment playing along the undertone of his voice.
I lowered my eye lashes, focusing on the pecks on my sight of vision.
"Yes, sorry. I was feeling a bit thirsty and I just came to grab a glass of water. And then I felt a bit hungry so I thought I'd make us both breakfast. I hope that was okay with you?"
Why was I feeling nervous? Incessantly so?
I felt a grin crop up on Abhimanyu's lips. "You we're going to make me breakfast?" He asked, teasingly.
I blushed as I pushed him away from me. "Yes. Now can help tell me where the pots and pans are so I can make us some breakfast? Because don't you have to get to work?" I replied, trying to distract myself from his proximity.
He giggled at my nervousness. "Here. How about you make us some scrambled eggs and bacon while I get started on the coffee and toast. Teamwork."
I nodded my head, trying to get my heart to calm down. Why? Why did Abhmanyu Birla make me so nervous?
Abhimanyu passed me a pan, seasonings, bacon, eggs and a packet of grated cheese, while I got to chopping some red onions, bell peppers and tomatoes to mix in with the scrambled eggs.
"You like avocado?" He asked, ruffling through the drawers in his refrigerator.
"Who doesn't?" I replied.
"Perfect." He replied, taking out the creamer and a perfect ripe avocado.
I got started on the bacon by frying it on one pan whilst multitasking the scrambled eggs in another.
"Here, can you try this and let me know if it's crispy enough?" I asked, turning around to Abhimanyu and holding out a small piece of bacon for him to try.
Abhimanyu held on to my hand and brought it to his mouth before biting down on the piece of bacon like it was second nature to him.
I pulled my hand away as soon as he bit the piece of bacon.
"Tasty." He replied, staring directly at me, making my cheeks flush. Again.
"Plates?" I asked.
He pointed to the cabinet right beside the stove. I took out two plates and two coffee mugs while he grabbed the cutlery.
