I gripped Abhimanyu's hand as we strolled away from the hospital on foot. We came to a standstill a good few feet away from the hospital. We both turned around to look at each other with a never ending shy smile plastered on both of our faces.
"Should we call an Uber?" I asked him, looking behind us at the distancing lights of the hospital.
"Can we walk a little? Get some fresh air?" He requested.
I nodded my head eagerly. "Of course."
We both turn around and interlocked our fingers tightly as we exited the hospital grounds towards the blinding city lights. Quietly, hand in hand. Aimlessly. Just letting our feet, peace and quiet guide us.
"Won't they notice we're missing?" I asked, worriedly, breaking our silence.
"They might. But they also know how I am —I like to stay away from crowds so they won't mind too much." He shrugged his shoulders, caressing my hand with his thumb.
"You didn't like your party?" I frowned, the excitement I felt draining from my face.
"No! I loved it. I love whatever you do —" He replied, making my cheeks flush. "But I just wanted to be with you —alone."
I felt the blush on my cheeks deepen as my heart fluttered. This man —despite his claims —really had a way with words. He may not speak much but the words he did speak, came straight from the heart —from one heart aimed directly at another heart —mine.
"Abhi!" I chastised, trying to prevent myself from melting further for my man like ice cream on a hot summer day.
Ice cream!
My eyes widened as I looked at Abhimanyu with thoughts of ice cream clouding my brain and making my mouth water.
"Ice cream!" I yelled out loud, excitedly as my stomach started grumbling.
"Ice cream?" Abhimanyu asked me, confused.
I nodded my head up and down like a bobble head. "There is a Baskin Robbins around the corner. Let's go!" I dragged a willing Abhimanyu along.

"One scoop of birthday cake and one scoop of sweet cream in a waffle cone please." I rattled off my order aa Abhimanyu watched me in amusement.
"No one comes in between a girl and her ice cream." I turn and whisper to him making him chuckle.
"No Ma'am." He raised his arms in surrender, playfully.
"Do you want something?" I asked him, despite knowing his answer was going to be —
"No, I'm good."
I sighed, rolling my eyes at him. Sometimes I really wondered how I —the girl with the biggest sweet tooth —ended up with a guy who refused to even eat dark chocolate because he found it too sweet.
But then I realized it was the perfect relationship because that meant I got to have double the ice cream. His portion and mine. Now that was a match made in heaven.
"Do you want anything else?" Abhimanyu asked me as the employee handed me over the ice cream cone.
"No, I'm good." I answered Abhimanyu, looking at the ice cram cone as if it was the love of my life.
"That would be all." Abhimanyu turned around towards the cashier, finishing the payment for my ice cream.
