Hannah didn't answer. The man walked up to Eliza with stern eyes and said "She must die. Or that 'boy' you call 'Joseph' dies instead."
Eliza knew her answer, but could she forgive herself. "I'm sorry." Her eyes filled with tears as she slowly raises her hand and pointed a Hannah. She couldn't bear to look at her. Joseph ran to Eliza and held her hand. The man walked up to Hannah and raised his knife. Everyone knew what was coming next. The man swung the knife at Hannah and slit her neck. As she fell to the ground, blood was pouring from the wound.
"What have I done?" Eliza fell to her knees, crying.
"You did what you had to do." Joseph comforted her. Eliza was glad she has kept Joseph alive, and she was sure that he was grateful.
Without saying a word, the man left the hut, leaving Eliza and Joseph with Hannah's bloody corpse.
