Song used: Sally's Song, from Nightmare Before Christmas
—
You sit down in front of the piano by yourself. Everyone else is outside or went into town. You just needed some time for yourself, otherwise you would've began to lose your mind.
Bucky asked is you wanted some company, but you told him you'd be fine. In reality you just wanted to play a song that you associate with him and you didn't want him to hear it.
So, your fingers began to touch the keys and start to play the melody.
"I sense there's something in the wind, that feels like tragedy's at hand," you softly sing.
"And though I'd like to stand by him, can't shake the feeling that I have. The worst is just around the bend."
"And does he notice, my feelings for him? And will he see, how much he means to me? I think it's not to be."
"What will become of my dear friend? Where will his actions lead us then?"
"Although I'd like to join the crowd, in their enthusiastic cloud. Try as I may, it doesn't last."
"And will we ever, end up together? No, I think. It's never to become. For I am not the one," you finish the song and softly sigh.
Bucky stands outside the room, watching you, but staying out of your view. His thoughts are racing and he thinks that maybe there's a possibility that you sang that song for him. But he thinks that he's being ridiculous for assuming that.
He knows that "The Nightmare Before Christmas" is one of your favorite movies, so you could just be singing the song cause you like it.
Then he watches as Steven slash Marc comes in his view and walk up to you. His face twitches with confusion as he sits next to you and hugs you.
"That was beautiful y/n," he says with a British accent and you smile.
"Thank you," you blush as you look down at your fingers.
"Is there anyone special that made you sing that song?" He asks and you hesitate before shaking your head no. "Are you sure? You can be honest with me," he says.
"I'm sure," you say a little to quick like you're trying to cover something up.
"Well that's good, cause now I can do this," he says before grabbing your chin and kissing you.
Bucky stumbles back away from the door. He stands there in shock for a few seconds before collecting himself and walking away.
You immediately push Steven off of you and stand up. "Woah, slow down," you say and he stands up.
"I'm sorry if I overstepped my line and made you uncomfortable," he says as he gives you some room so he doesn't make you uncomfortable.
"It's okay, just don't do it again please," you say.
"So you don't like me?" He asks and you frown.
"Steven, you're a very attractive man, but no, I don't like you that way. I'm sorry," you say.
"No that's okay. I'm just trying to clear the air, that's umm, that's all. Im so sorry for making you uncomfortable," he says.
"It's okay," you say.
He turns to leave the room, but stops and turns around. "You umm, you might wanna tell Bucky how you feel, before it's too late," he says.
"What are you talking about?" You nervously laugh.
"Just a thought," he says with a smile before leaving.
You sit back down in front of the piano and think about playing a song again, but your mind feel busy and you know Steven's right.
So, you stand up and quickly rush out of the room and up the stairs to yours and Bucky's room. You open the door and walk in to see him packing his clothes up.
"Bucky I— what are you doing?" You ask.
"I'm staying in Sam and Steve's room. They have a couch I can sleep on," he says as he zips his bag up.
"What? Why?" You ask scared.
"Well, I just thought that you'd wanna be sleeping with your boyfriend," he says harshly and you're taken aback at his tone.
"What boyfriend?" You ask before it dawns upon you. "You saw me and Steven kiss."
"Yep," he sounds hurt. Betrayed.
"That wasn't what you thought it was," you say and he chuckles without any humor. "You heard me playing right?"
"Yea I heard you playing," he says.
"I was playing that song for—"
"Him, I know. I'm very much aware of that. No need to rub it in," he says as he starts walking to the door.
"Why do you care so much?" You ask starting to get irritated with him.
"It doesn't matter anymore. You obviously don't seem to care about my feelings. See you at dinner y/n," he says before leaving the room.
