Slurpee POV

I couldn't help but notice it was getting late. The sun had dipped below the horizon, and the moon was shining bright in the sky. I was just sat on the sofa, watching a soap opera on TV. Nana still wasn't home. I knew her show was running late but this was ridiculous. My eyes were focused on the screen, TV remote in my hand. It was a romantic scene; two characters sharing a kiss on the top of a building as snow fell around them. It looked so beautiful, I wished that we would one day, we would share that moment. Suddenly, a text appeared on my phone, snapping he back to reality.

Hey babe, sorry for coming home late, things ran a little bit long at the circus. I should be home in a few minutes, love you xxx

I smiled at this text. At least Nana was okay. I started typing out a reply, glancing up every so often at the show. I put my phone down and resumed what I was doing before. A few minutes passed until I heard someone unlocking the door. Immediately, I bolted up from my seat, abandoning my show to greet Nana at the door. The door slowly opened to reveal her, but she looked to be in a bit of a rough shape.

Her hair was messy, her hat was askew, her gloves were rolled down her arms, and she had tired eyes.
"Oh my gosh, are you alright?" I asked upon seeing her in this state.
"That show seemed to go on for hours..." Nana drawled in her half-asleep voice."I'm super tired...I think I'm gonna..."
Nana's legs gave way, causing her to collapse in my arms. She was still awake, but on the brink of falling asleep.

"W-woah! Okay, I'll sort you out..." I exclaimed. With my love slung over my arm, I carried her into the living room and gingerly placed her on the sofa. Then, I grabbed the fluffiest, comfiest blanket in the room and draped it over her.
"Thank you..." I heard her mumble. I laughed quietly and replied, smiling, "You're welcome."
I jumped back onto the sofa, holding Nana close to me, and resumed watching my show.

I watched her out the corner of my eye, gazing at the screen drowsily, eyes flickering. Eventually, her eyes shut completely after a few minutes of blinking for long periods of time. As she drifted off into sleep, she rested her head on my shoulder, sending a tingle through my body. Her green hair flopped onto my chest, and she had a small smile of her face. Blushing slightly, I gently kissed her forehead and whispered, "I love you." Although she was still asleep, I watched as the smile on her face grew bigger.
