Everything is good in Vance's world for about 2 days,

After he embarrassingly cried right infront of Bruce but inevitably scored the goal in that aspect, got the boy who hugged Vance and kissed his cheek and told him that they could take things slow and try it out and hope for the best but Vance knows the best is here the best is now.

But if Vance hopper is good at anything, he's good at fucking up. It's barely 2 days since then when he and griffin get into an argument about something silly and Vance yells at him, like really yells at him. Something about going back where he came from and blah blah stupid shit and griffin wouldn't speak to him after that.

Which is fair, he's tried everything, Bought him icecream and gave him snack money and offered to buy his lunch for the next week but griffin wouldn't take it. He wouldn't take it and he said because 'this isn't the right way' and if it means anything Vance loves griffin he adores him and he knows when griffin is mad at him he's totally fucked up.

But griffin loves Vance too and he wants Vance to get better he knows that, he knows griffin wants him to be good and feel good and do it the right way. Build good habits and keep them and keep their relationship healthy and he knows, that the issue is he doesn't know any other way to apologize.

He figured he should just start with 'Im sorry.' But maybe that's too easy. It sounds to easy, likes a trap of sorts.

So now he's here, at his new boyfriend of one weeks house asking Bruce wether he should get down on his knees and beg griffin to take him back or like he doesn't know bring him leaves like cats do.

Vance is still new here, he's still learning and he still doesn't really know anything deeper then surface level about bruce. He's learning thought, and quickly at that.

He's learning how Bruce bites his finger when he concentrates the way his eyebrows furrowed and his eyes narrow when he thinks, he's learning the way Bruce hyper focuses on things like baseball and homework when he's lost and having a hard time and here he is in his room and Bruce is jusy looking at him.

It's a mixture of both concentration and lost and Vance isn't sure if he should be nervous or not. His hairs messy, looks like he just woke up but it's like 2 o'clock and Bruce seems like the type of guy to wake up early and sleep early.

It's been one week since Bruce found out and maybe it's the adrenaline or the fuzzy feeling of being wanted by someone for the first time but Vance's been over the moon for the past seven days.

No fights no arguing just smooth sailing sweet talking Vance and everyone's noticed it too. He knew he was bound to blow up one of these days because he knows him they all do and they know it's one step forward and two steps back.

Now, griffins a smart kid, Bruce points out as he tumbles over any ideas in his head. griffins a smart kid who wants Vance to get better so maybe he's doing this on purpose so that way you'll learn something from it.

Bruce sighs, raking a hand through his dark hair before he plants his feet "alright heres what I think," and Vance is all ears.

"I think he wants you to learn how to apologize properly, you know from the heart? Like do something that really shows you love and care about him not just buying him stuff. I know you lile to do that but sometimes people will take that as you trying to buy back their love." His voice is sweet and gentle as he moves to sit beside Vance on his bed.

Yea it's been a week but being this close to Bruce will probably never get easier, he's sure hes red and he's sure he gets even redder when Bruce reaches out and locks their fingers together, pulling them to lay on his lap.
