Chapter 15: Fortune

Liana's at the Kent house walking down the stairs with her dress on ready for her bachelorette party. Clark's an awe at her outfit and he says, "Wow. Y-you look amazing." Liana smiles and says, "Thanks." Clark says, "So, you have any second thoughts about your girls' night out?" Liana says, "Nope. I'm so excited." Someone clears their throat and Liana looks at Tess and Chloe. Tess says, "Liana?" Liana says, "Yeah?" Tess says, "I think there's something missing." Chloe smiles and says, "Ta-da-a!" Chloe puts a crown and a veil on top of Liana's head and Chloe continues to say, "Your bachelorette superpower-up!" Liana smiles and walks into the room where Oliver and Emil are with Tess behind her. Liana pours herself a drink and Clark says, "I wish I could free this moment in time forever." Tess smiles and says, "Me too." Oliver says, "Unfortunately, the limo is here. So, uh, we should go. B-but before we do, um, a toast." Chloe says, "Oh, right. A toast. Sorry. Forgot that one." Chloe goes to grab herself a glass and she continues to say, "To the bride and groom. You know, to friends. You two amazing people have been the best friends I could have ever asked for. And... we want you to know that we are here for you... to support you... as you begin your happily ever after adventure. And tonight, is all about celebrating you. And, uh, I hope you boys have fun tonight but don't do anything I wouldn't do." Oliver says, "No, no, we wouldn't uh, wouldn't do that." Chloe says, "Okay." Everyone cheers their glass and says, "To the bride and groom!" Everyone drinks their glass, and the next morning Liana wakes up with an arm around her body that isn't Clark's, and she moves the arm off her and she says, "Watch it buddy." A familiar voice says, "Sorry." Liana sees it's Oliver and she says, "It's okay." Liana sees her and Oliver are at an abandoned railroad track, and she says, "Whoa, my head is pounding like a mosh pit. And my mouth tastes like armpit." Liana looks down to see her wearing worn out boots and she says, "What happened?" Oliver says, "I think the jury's still out, but, uh... I'd say we just survived the world's greatest bachelor party." Liana says, "No offense, but... speak for yourself. My dream soiree would end waking up with someone a little taller, darker and a different kind of handsome." Liana stands up and Oliver says, "Well, no surprise there. How the hell did we end up here, anyway?" Liana says, "I have no idea. But in that green getup of yours, we're gonna stand out like a hooker in a church." Oliver's confused and says, "What?" Oliver looks down at what he's wearing and he laughs and he says, "What is this?" Liana laughs and Oliver says, "Hey, you know what, I thought my drunken-blackout days were behind me. This is..." Liana says, "Yeah, tell me about it. I don't have a single memory of my big night. So, we'd better drop a line to Clark and Chloe. They'll be worried." Oliver checks his pockets for his phone, and he says, "Oopsie. You know what? I just realized something. When I, when I changed my pants, I think I forgot all the important things." Liana says, "Yeah. My phone's missing, too. Which is a bummer, since this isn't exactly 'Mister Rogers' Neighborhood.'" Oliver says, "It's okay, it's alright. Y-You know what we're gonna do? We're gonna, uh, we're gonna find one of those infamous phone booths of yours, okay? And, uh, we're gonna call Clark. Everything's gonna be great." Liana's stomach drops because her engagement ring's gone and she says, "We can't call Clark." Oliver rubs his head and says, "Sometimes I don't understand why... What-what, what's the problem, huh?" Liana holds her hand up and she says, "My engagement ring is gone." Then Liana and Oliver start walking back to the city and Liana says, "The morning after mind that was a stinger. But the sweet smell of sewage is clearing my head." Oliver says, "Ah, Liana, we're gonna find them, okay? And Clark's with Chloe. He'll take care of her, too." Liana says, "I know. I was just checking out my single hand my no-longer engaged hand." Oliver says, "Liana, you're still engaged. Y-you may just have to let go of the ring. And I'll tell you what I'm gonna do. My corporation, I may have lost it but I'm gonna buy you an identical rock, okay? Problem solved." Liana says, "I hate to break this to you, but the last thing I want to go around with for the rest of my life is a lie propagated by my ex-boyfriend." Oliver says, "Oh. Right." Liana says, "The ring that Clark gave me was a symbol of our love the symbol of our future together. It wasn't just any ring, it was the ring the big kahuna. I'm the worst fiancée ever. I can't believe I lost the ring." Oliver says, "He's gonna understand, Liana. He always does." Liana says, "We cannot tell Clark!" Oliver says, "Tell you what, I'm gonna do whatever it takes to get you that ring back, okay? But you really... You got to relax, alright, you're starting to do that twitchy thing again that you do." Liana's trying to grab the object that's poking at her breast and she says, "I'm not twitching, there's something stuck in my bra." Oliver says, "That's not my territory anymore, alright?" Liana pulls out a poker chip and she says, "Interesting. 'Fortune Casino.'" Oliver grabs the poker chip and says, "Oh, look at that. Your Pointer Sisters just gave us our first clue as to where we were last night." Liana says, "Great." They get into a car that Oliver waved over and they're on their way to the casino. Later, they walk into the casino and Oliver says, "This $500 baby here means we were probably gambling last night. Knowing you? Blackjack, alright?" Liana says, "Yeah. Oh, my God. What if I bet the ring?" Oliver says, "Oh, I don't think that would happen, Liana." A man walks up to Liana and says, "I thought I told you never to come back here again." Oliver says, "No kidding. Huh. Hey, listen, I got a question for you. My friend, she... lost a ring last night. Do you have any idea..." The man says, "Your little card shark here? She bet her engagement ring, yeah." Liana frowns and Oliver says, "Oh." Liana says, "Did I call it or did I call it?" The man says, "She's raking it in, trash-talking the boss. So, he won the ring off her. Come on, let's go. I don't want you to take you for another ride." Liana says, "No, no, wait, Oliver, this isn't possible not in this lifetime. The only conceivable way that I would bet the ring was if it was a sure thing." The man says, "There's no such thing in life as a sure thing." Liana says, "Oh, yeah? What are you trying to say? Was I scammed? Let me guess, your boss stacked the deck, right?" The man looks at his boss and Liana follows his eyes to an old man with no hair with her engagement ring on his left pinky finger. Liana sighs and says, "There is no way that I'm gonna let that creep cheat me out of my happily forever after. Here comes the bride." As Liana goes over to the boss, a man steps in front of her and the two men take Liana and Oliver away and they duct tape their wrists together on a chair and they leave. Liana says, "I was so close to getting my ring back." Oliver says, "Hey, don't worry we'll get it back. Now, how about you get us out of these chairs that were duct to." Liana says, "Right." Liana freezes the tape, and they break. Liana and Oliver are free and as they go walk out the door, they see the two men who tied them up and they get back into the room and barricade the door. Oliver says, "We'll be lucky to get out of here alive. I didn't exactly bring my Green Arrow gear to the bachelor party. Uh... Unless..." Liana follows Oliver eyes and sees him looking at the show girl's costumes and she sighs. They get dressed into their costumes and the curtains open and they walk out and dance like the other show girls. Liana sees the boss who has her ring sitting in front of the stage. Liana walks off the stage and she winks at the boss and says, "Hey, big daddy you wanna give a girl some lovin'?" The boss just smiles at her, and she looks towards Oliver and says, "Do something." Liana walks past Oliver and gets back on the stage. The boss looks at Chloe and says, "That's her. The blonde! She's one of the crew that stole the money!" Liana looks at Chloe and says, "Chloe, run!" Liana takes off her glove and soaks her hand in butter and grab's the boss's hand to slip the ring off. The ring flies in the air and as Liana goes to catch it, Oliver jumps on the boss making her drop the ring. Liana sees it on the ground, and she crawls over to it, but someone kicks it, and she goes to find it again, but someone else also kicks it away and she says, "You have got to be kidding me!" Liana goes to find it again and she hurries to grab it before someone kicks it again and she smiles and says, "Finally!" Then the boss man grabs her by the neck and hoists her up and he says, "You think I'm gonna let you run off with my lucky ring? I won so big today." Liana gasps for air and Oliver appears and says, "The only one getting lucky here tonight is yours truly." Oliver then knocks the boss man out and Chloe walks up to them and as Liana puts on her ring, Oliver looks at Chloe and says, "Way to go all-in gorgeous." Chloe looks at Oliver and says, "Back atcha, hot stuff."

The next night, Liana walks into Watchtower with Chloe, Clark, and Oliver and she says, "Alright, everyone I have the video tape and now I haven't actually laid eyes on all the footage yet, but I strongly suspect that what inside this little guy are the answers to all of our burning questions." Emil says, "Oh, my camera. Of course, I forgot that I..." Tess walks over to Liana to look at the camera and says, "Yeah, this looks really damaged, I don't..." Oliver grabs the camera and says, "Let's see if we can play this thing. You know what I mean? I found it in a, uh, a puddle of champagne in the limo. Ooh, speaking of spirits, you know what we should do? Champagne." Liana says, "I'm good." Chloe says, "No, no." Tess says, "Absolutely not." Emil says, "Uh, t-there's sparkling cider in the fridge, which I am certain Zatanna has not charmed." Liana walks to get the sparkling cider with Chloe. Chloe carries four and Liana grabs two and walks over to hand one to Clark and he says, "Uh. I'm so gun-shy, I don't even know if I can try it." Liana chuckles and she nervously says, "Here's the thing, Clark. I, uh... I bet the ring. I mean, I got it back, but... Please forgive me." Clark softly smiles and says, "Liana, there's nothing to forgive." Clark gives Liana a hug and he continues to say, "The ring is not what's important. You are." Clark pulls away from the hug and he continues to say, "But I have a bit of a confession myself. Um... When I woke up this morning and you were gone, I thought that I'd scared you away somehow." Liana softly says, "Don't worry, I'm not going anywhere. You're stuck with me, Smallville." Clark smiles and Liana pecks his lips and Tess says, "Oh! And we're rolling!" The coupe go sit down on the couch and Liana loops her arm through Clarks and Tess says, "The file's corrupted, but we'll see what we've got." Oliver says, "You guys ready for this?" Emil says, "Showtime." Liana says, "Hopefully I'm not too embarrassing." Chloe smiles and says, "Same."
