I couldn't distinguish if the voices were male or female–but at the same time, they were eerily familiar in the darkness surrounding me.
"You're beautiful..."
"And you're crazy."
There was a soft chuckle, "I get that quite a lot..."
"Then why won't you leave me alone?"
"Because I have something to show you..."
A song trilled through the air, and what was once darkness swelled with the blood-red petals of carnations.
All around me were falling petals of the flowers that seemed to respond to my song.
"How did you do that?"
"I don't exactly know..."
"But you can bring life out of darkness like this?"
"Yes!"
A chill raced up my spine as I felt someone watching over my shoulder.
Turning my eyes, I found myself staring up into the dark eyes of a blurry-faced person. Their eyes twinkled with wonder as specks of gold swam around the onyx of their irises. I tried desperately to get a clear picture of their face, but nothing I did to control this dream worked.
But again, I've never had a dream like this.
This was new. It was unnerving.
For all I knew, I was watching something happening in real-time through someone else's eyes.
But it didn't seem like anything bad was happening.
And for the first time in a long time, I was able to actually speak, "Who are you?"
The eyes tilted, and the voice–still undistinguishable–murmured softly, "I was going to ask you the same thing..."
"Are you going to answer me?"
There was a sound from the voice–sounding like a melody, but there were no words, "And you are?"
"You didn't answer me."
"Yes I did..." The voice sounded a little confused. "I said my name is–" The melody trickled around me–wrapping around my heart and permanently echoing in my ears. "Did you hear me that time?"
"No...?"
The petals around us started to wilt as cold seeped into my feet.
Looking down, I watched in horror as murky water was slowly rising around my ankles and legs, "What is happening?!"
"Are you okay?" The voice's tone shifted into concern.
Looking up as the water reached my hips, I saw the person drifting away, "Don't leave me!"
"What is going–"
The water was suddenly at my chin, and I tried to swim, but something had wrapped around my ankles–anchoring me to the ground.
"NO!" I screamed, suddenly terrified, as the water rushed over my face.
Oh, little hero, drowning in the water that is supposed to save your life... The voice from the pit–Kronos's–hummed as I opened my mouth briefly, only for the water to hit my lungs like lead. This is what happens when you do not take offers to save your life. You drown in the consequences of your actions–left all alone with no one to save you.
