"Baby, I love that you want to be close," North said with a subtle smirk. "But you have to back up."
I furrowed my brows. "Why?"
"If I accidentally punch you I'll let Silas and Mr. Blackbourne beat the shit out of me," he said.
My eyes widened and I slowly eased off the treadmill.
"Here Peanut," I turned to Nathan who pointed at the rack with 5lbs weights. "You can play with these."
---
I swallowed, gripping his shirt. Hesitant with the others just outside the door. "But... Vict—"
"Don't," North's hand covered my mouth, squishing my lips with his palm. I opened my eyes to meet his glare, the warnings they sent had me shivering. He grunted in response but his eyes never wavered. "Fuck. Don't you dare say someone else's name when I have you like this."
---
Brandon tilted his head back, looking at me curiously. "You really don't curse."
"Because she's a good girl," Luke said with a playful smile and tugged on a piece of my hair. "Right, Sang."
I blushed, it didn't sound like a question so I didn't respond.
"Well, now I'm curious," Gabriel said, sitting up. "Sang, say fuck."
I caught Kota crossing his arms, shaking his head. I looked over at Victor, the flames in his eyes lit with curiosity.
North shot a glare at all of us. "You don't have to say it, Sang."
I pursed my lips, unsure of what to do. I'd never cursed before, it's never even crossed my mind. The thought of doing it had me hesitant but with Gabriel's curiosity, I was tempted to give in.
Raven chuckled beside me. "She wouldn't say it," he nudge me and I met his taunting smirk.
I narrowed my eyes and a blush took over my cheeks. I swallowed and licked my lips, repeating the word in my mind but even that felt odd to me. I stared at my lap, tugging at my skirt. "Fuck," I said almost too quietly but I was hoping they all heard, I wasn't sure I would say it again.
I felt Raven stiffen and looked up when no one said anything or even laughed. With Gabriel directly in front of me, I met his eyes first. His Adam's apple bobbed and a blush crept on his face. "Yeah, maybe you shouldn't curse."
North reached over, landing a chop on his head and delivering a glare. "Dumbass."
Victor smiled softly, tilting his head and blinking. "You make even that sound so innocent."
"It's her voice," Kota said with a small smirk. "It's gentle," he flashed me a tight smile and shrugged. "Not sure I like hearing you curse, though."
Brandon nodded, watching me carefully. "It's just not her."
Relieved I didn't have to say it again, I had to agree with them.
---
Kota flashed Wil an encouraging smile. "We just need you to keep Sang outside until one of us comes out."
"The dog should keep her entertained for a while," Marc said, nodding at Kota's golden retriever as it sniffed the rest of the guys.
Kota and Marc shared looks with their team. Dr. Green and North would be back any moment with Sang.
Wil frowned, glancing at the dog and then at Kota. "Sure, it might. But what if she wants to come in?"
"Don't let her," Nathan said, his brow arched as if it were the simplest thing.
Wil made a face that seemed to express otherwise. "She doesn't really listen to me."
Most of the guys in the room held smirks or some variation of amusement in their eyes.
Owen had the slightest arch in his eyebrow, giving Wil a pointed look. "Miss Sorenson has a rather obedient nature."
"You just have to be tough," Raven stated with a broad smirk. "Don't let her flutter those pretty eyes at you."
They watched a blush creep onto Wil's cheeks and his frown deepened. "You expect me to believe she actually behaves?" The Academy men glanced at each other, Sang did have a habit of going against their word sometimes but for the most part, she behaved for them. "I've known Sang all her life, I can barely get her to have breakfast before school."
Marc groaned, rolling his eyes. He stood and walked over to Wil. "Look, just keep her outside. If she gives you trouble, I'll go out there."
---
I looked over at Corey, he turned from the show to flash me a smile. I returned the smile and leaned into him. "I'm sorry if we ruined your plans," I said shyly. "I didn't realize you might want to attend these alone."
He shrugged dismissively, his cerulean eyes lit up. "I usually attend the Ren Faire alone but they're pretty fun," he nodded to the guys. "Raven and the others don't enjoy these things so I try not to drag them with me."
I shared a smile, glad we weren't ruining the experience.
Corey took my hand and leaned down to whisper in my ear. "But next time, I want it to be just us."
