"Shane! Dude, be careful! Don't be too harsh on the ghosts." Ryan yelped as Shane made yet another attempt at scaring the ghosts he didn't believe in.

"Whatever," Shane said as he lifted up his hand in a dismissing manner. "They were kidnappers anyway, they don't deserve good things." Shane finished nonchalantly giving the air an angry glare.

"You keep saying they're kidnappers, but have you thought of the possibility that they worked together with the demon?" Ryan said half-serious, giving in to his conspiracy side.

"Now don't go victim blaming, Ryan! Besides, then why would the demon attack them? And you said that the demon either got freed or escaped, so." Shane replied, not liking the idea that the assholes who made him do all the dirty work get any redemption or anything.

"Hey don't twist my words! Yeah but that's just what people have said. I could see the demon backstabbing them, demons are untrustworthy."

"Are they now?" Shane said with an amused smirk, making Ryan question his friend's sanity.

"Anyway we are now about to enter the room where it is said the demon got caged in, and where most of its captors later got killed: the basement." "Always the basement!" Shane quipped. "Not very original if you ask me." Shane said, making Ryan sigh. "Yeah why can't they do demonic shit in, like, the living room. Or anywhere less scary."

Shane could feel dread radiating from Ryan. It was funny, Shane thought, how scared Ryan got. Shane savored every second of it. With that he remembered something Ryan said earlier, deciding to torment his friend a little more.

"Well remember that we are to spend the night down there, too."

Ryan's eyes got wide.

"Shit, yeah we are." Ryan looked straight at nothing, then up at Shane. "I don't know if I'll be able to stay there, with what we have planned to do down there."

Now that sparked curiosity in Shane. He didn't remember Ryan speaking of anything out of the ordinary. "What do we have planned?" He asked, one eyebrow raised.

"Well usually we just do solo investigations, but tonight I want us to actually try and summon the demon they captured."

Now that earned a wide eyed look from Shane. He really was not expecting that.

"I know it sounds insane! But we have tried to connect to all kinds of spirits before and even though I think demons are very untrustworthy, are sommoned demons often very proffesional, it's just the hosts that are very stupid most of the time." Ryan sighed, he has done much research regarding demon summoning. "I don't know if anything will even happen, but if it worked I would just like to ask it some questions."

"Do you really think the demon would take it well to be summoned in this place again, regarding the last time it was here?" Shane questioned, trying to not make this happen.

"Why are you worried? Do you think it will work?" Ryan answered with a grin. And how is Shane supposed to answer that? He can't say anything that makes it look like he doesn't want to do it, but he really does not want to do it.

"I just don't want you keeping me up all night with your shuffling because you got scared, that's all." Shane said, shrugging. Please don't make us do this.

"I think I would be moving around the same either way." Ryan finally said, making it final.

They go down the stairs towards the cellar.
