warnings: language, violence
Chapter 30:
402 A.V; Month 11; Day 9
There was a rough knocking on the door that woke us both up. Andon shot up in a confused manner, took a millisecond to figure out what the noise had been and hurried to the door. I dragged the pillow over my head and couldn't be bothered."Enjoy your time?" Priam asked Andon.
"I did," he answered, "Did you?"
"Shut the fuck up," Priam muttered, "Here are your clothes, get dressed."
"Don't ask questions if you—," Andon started to say, but the door closed before he could finish and I peeked out from underneath the pillow. He was holding standard UG uniform, but there were two pairs of pants and two shirts. He lifted his eyebrows and checked the tags on the top pair before throwing them on the bed.
"I guess it's time, buttercup," he said.
"For what is the question. He has something planned and I don't like it," I grumbled, sitting up and languidly reached for the clothes.
"He always has something planned," Andon said, "But I don't like this either." I rolled off to bed and went to the closet and grabbed the sports bra I'd used for training and pulled out my boots before turning to him.
"Are we changing in the same room or is one of us going to the bathroom?"
"That's up to you and how well you think you can control yourself," he said, grinning.
"Afraid I might sneak a peak at you...shirtless?" I asked, grinning while making my way to the bathroom.
"I am a modest person and I do not walk around with my shirt off because of it," he said in an innocent manner. I only smiled more and closed the door behind me. After I was ready and had just started to braid back my hair again, there was a quiet knock at the door.
"I'm decent," I said and Andon stepped in.
"I was honestly a little reluctant to open the door because I think your decent differs from mine."
"Decent for me is shorts and a sports bra."
"Exactly."
He watched me for a little while as I braided my hair and I knew he wanted to say something, he just didn't seem like he knew how. When I tied off my braid, he reached out and took my hand. I was sure that he was going to keep moving closer or pull me closer when Priam knocked on the door again. Andon deflated a bit.
"Goddamn it," he hissed.
"Killing him is still on the table," I told him.
He only grinned and shook his head before leaning over to plant a kiss on my forehead as Priam pounded his fist against the door harder this time. Andon left the bathroom and I followed. Priam was just about to knock again when Andon opened it.
"I'm surprised the door doesn't have a worn out spot from your knocking," Andon said, looking at it.
"If you two would answer the damn door when I knock the first time, then I wouldn't have to knock so long," he snapped back. Andon shrugged and looked at him.
"Well, we're ready to go."
Priam gave him a glare and turned away. We followed him out the door and the only people present were Jamie, Sabre, and Storm. There were weapons lying out on the table including my UG bow and two guns that could've very well been Huginn and Muninn, but they looked a little different. Sabre was lounged in one of the kitchen chairs, twirling a dagger around in his fingertips while Jamie stood off to the side. Storm was also sitting at the table but his nose was buried in some digital device. Sabre and Jamie were outfitted in the UG uniform as well. Priam of course would stay behind because he couldn't do anything for himself.
