Captain Palpatine had Anakin, Carmine, and Ahsoka march behind him as they passed through the hall toward the throne room.
"Company, halt!" Palpatine exclaimed.
But the three bumped into each other as Anakin, who was in front as the oldest, suddenly stopped.
"Now, the three of you wait here while I prepare Princess Padme and Prince Boba for your first impression." the captain told them. And he entered the throne room, leaving the three alone.
Anakin smiled proudly as he looked at the closed doors, and then he looked to his friends.
"This is it, guys. The moment we've been waiting for." said Anakin. "Now, when these doors open, we've gotta make a great first impression."
"I can't believe we're really gonna meet the princess!" Ahsoka said, excitedly.
"Remember, we're on duty. This place could be crawling with bad guys."
"Bad guys?" Carmine said, getting nervous.
"That's what we're protecting the royal family from." Anakin pointed out, helping his twin straighten up. "So, all three of us must stay alert."
"You heard him, Snips. Stay alert."
"I think you also need to stay calm." Ahsoka said.
"Please, I'm the perfect picture of calm." Carmine crossed his arms. "In fact-"
Inconveniently, a spider lowered in front of Carmine.
"AHH!"
And Carmine backed right into a suit of armor and knocked it down.
"Carmine!" Anakin and Ahsoka exclaimed.
Carmine popped out from the pile of broken armor, wearing the helmet. He lifted it off his face, and found his glassed were missing.
"That spider came out of nowhere." Carmine said, looking around as his vision was blurred. "Where are my glasses?"
Meanwhile, Palpatine stood before the Crown Princess and young prince as they sat in their thrones.
"Your royal highness," said Palpatine. "It is with great honor that I shall introduce you to the finest men to protect you and your son today."
As Palpatine gave a speech, Caroline came by the royal family.
"Seems like this may take a while." Caroline said. "I'll get you a little snack."
And she left.
"I have taken it upon my highly trained eyes to see their true potential. They are young, strong, and top of their classes." Palpatine said.
"Yes," said Padme, looking as bored as the six-year-old beside her was, the child practically asleep. "Well, Naboo thanks you and your eyes very much."
"Well then, it is without further ado that I present for your complete safety and protection... your Jedi-teers."
And the doors opened to reveal... Carmine straightening his glasses as Anakin and Ahsoka were putting the armor back together. Anakin didn't notice, as he had his back turned, but Ahsoka quickly tapped his shoulder and saluted towards the princess, as did Carmine once his vision was clear again.
Padme was confused at first. These three were the best Palpatine could find? Three Jedi-teers who break a statue? Not the best first impression.
But, then Padme got a look at the third musketeer when he turned to face her, and she felt an odd sensation when he looked at her. And he suddenly had the same look of surprise as she did, as though they were glancing into each other's eyes from a distance.
