Racing throughout the BeBop as I hurriedly put myself together, grabbing my knife from the table before rushing back off to the Icarus again. Or bursting into the livingroom one final time. Double checking that I had everything. Everything had to be absolutely perfect, I had only one shot at this.
"Well, someones in a rush." Faye mused, shortly following behind me. She sauntered across the livingroom and plopped into the recliner. What she was doing, I was too frantic to notice.
"Yeah. Keep it down would ya? I have a pounding migraine," Spike growled from the couch. Pulling the pillow only slightly off his face to be heard, "No thanks to you!"
"Can it, would ya Cowboy? I'm reaping it myself, I'm half an hour late right now!" I hissed, patting myself down, "Gun, knife, glasses... My smokes! Where are my smokes..."
Spotting them on the table, they were snatched and quickly tucked away into my coat pocket. Without another word, I was practically sprinting out of the livingroom and back to the Icarus. Sure, I had wanted to drag out the amount of time I had between last night and seeing Quill tonight, but whatever was in those painkillers had me down and out for the count. I decided that it may be best to keep Human drugs out of my hands, and stick to the Helxian stuff I knew by heart.
Itsyaboiquill: Tick tock, Bubs.
Ghost: Yeah yeah I'm on my way! Sorry I overslept!
Itsyaboiquill: Don't apologize. Get your ass to Mars.
Jetting off from the BeBop wasn't the problem. Far from it, it was the mounting panic of what would happen the moment I reached that little ramen shop on Mars. Would I be shot on the spot? Kidnapped? Would it be a fist fight right then and there? Which, one should mention - I would have more luck trying to fight Spike again then entering a fist fight with Quill. More or less, I think it was a fear of the unknown that had me all in a tizzy. With how long it had been, I doubt that I could use the memories of that man I once knew to keep me sane. This was a different time, a different man. Sure it may still look like him, and he may walk the same. However, 20 years does something to a person. I tried not to think about it all too much and plunge into the realm of panic fully. After landing, I made sure I had my watch and glasses ready. Fighting Quill would be absolutely useless, the only option I would have is run. Glasses and watch equipped, and weapons secure, I started running off to the shop. A route I knew by heart, and thanked Mars between breaths for such a cool, quiet night. Coming to a slow as I approached the little shop, I nearly froze in my tracks seeing him there.
Sure, Spike and Jet were pretty tall - with me only coming up to their chest, but Quill?
Quill towered over me. If that was the least of my problems right now. Not only was he formidable just alone in his presence, there was his demeanor. It was a flip of the coin on what Quil I would have tonight. Either the sunshine man who's greatest problem was he wore the wrong color to a gala, or the coldhearted King. Which, even this far out from Heltix he still looked like one. Although missing his crown, or flowing cloak, he still dressed as such. Wavy brunette hair had been pulled back into a ponytail of sorts, although loosely. Letting strands frame the side of his face. If anything, one may mistake him for an army general. The jacket he wore was very much akin to that, but missing stars pinned to his collar and his rank on his chest. Which, it all felt way too simplistic for Quill. Quill liked glamor and trinkets. Where was the jingle in his step from all the jewelry clashing together? I wasn't given much time as his gaze finally settled on me.
"About time." He hissed between fangs, and even with the dim lighting the moon provided, I could still spot the splotches of black on his skin. Which was very much akin to a condition that Humans had, one I believed was called, "Vitiligo." Which not only affected his skin, but his eyes. His right eye being a vibrant pine green and the left being a deep violet. The white of his left eye being of the same color but only a lighter shade. Which was slightly glowing as he scowled down at me.
