You opened the oak front door of you and your father's house and let the bruised, scratched up boy inside. "Here, you can go sit on the couch and watch some tv, while I go grab the first aid kit." You spoke, pointing to the couch.
Finney nodded and sat down onto your living room couch. You gave him a small smile before going to go grab your first aid kit.
As soon as you were out of Finney's sight, you felt your face heat up as you scrambled to get the first aid kit.
'There's a boy in my living room right now. What would dad say? Calm down Y/n, I don't know why you're making such a big deal out of it. You and Finney are just friends.' You thought, trying to calm yourself down.
You grabbed the first aid kit from your bathroom cabinet, closing the glass cabinet door. You grabbed a clean cloth and ran it under cold water. Once done, you turn the water faucet off and walked out of the bathroom.
Slowly, you walked back towards the living room, clutching onto the first aid kit. "I'm back." You announced, causing the bruised up Finney to look at you.
You kneeled down in front of him, grabbing the necessary items for his cuts and bruises. "May I?" You asked softly, gesturing to Finney's wounds. Finney immediately nodded, leaning closer to you.
You put the cold cloth to his face causing him to slightly flinch and gently started to wipe the dirt off. Once finished, you set the cloth down and grabbed cream to help with the healing of the wounds.
You placed a dot on your finger and leaned closer to Finney's face. You softly started dabbing the wounds on his face. His cheeks flushed bright pink from you being so close to his face.
You finished and wiped the remaining face healing cream onto your jeans. You looked up at Finney to see how close the both of your faces had become.
"And what is going on here?"
You whipped your head towards the direction of the front door to see your dad crossing his arms and raising an eyebrow.
He was not happy.
You quickly stood up, clearing your throat as you felt your cheeks burn. Finney looked down in embarrassment, his cheeks redder than ever.
"O-oh hey dad, what are you doing here?" You asked, nervously smiling.
"I should be asking you that, especially since your with a boy." Your dad remarked, sending the poor boy a slight glare. Finney gulped.
You nervously chuckled.
"Oh him... he's just a friend, nothing more, nothing less. I was just helping him." You quickly replied. Finney felt a pang in his chest when you said he was just your friend.
However, Finney felt kinda relieved that you told your displeased father he was just a friend, or he wouldn't be leaving this house alive. Your dad visibly relaxed, but his scowl on his face did not falter. You knew you were screwed.
"Then why were you guys so...close?"
"Because I was helping him with his injuries due to a little situation." You replied, pointing over to the opened first aid kit. Your father let out a big sigh before a big smile was placed onto his features.
"Alright, that's good to know you were helping someone. Now, what's your name son?" Your father spoke, walking over to Finney, placing a hand onto his shoulder.
"Um... Finney." Finney spoke, slightly hesitant. Your father chuckled.
"You should feel like being the luckiest man alive for being friends with my daughter." Your father boast, his face beaming. You looked down in embarrassment.
"Dad..."
"I am sir. Y/n is an awesome friend and I'm glad I met her!" Finney spoke, beaming. You felt a smile tug at your lips. Your dad let out a laugh.
"Of course you are, now you kiddos have fun, but not too much fun. I'm running some errands." Your father spoke, grabbing his wallet and making his way out of the front door.
As soon as the door shut, you let out a big sigh of relief. "Y/n, your dad's scary." Finney spoke, smiling awkwardly. You chuckled. "Yeah, he can be..."
You both stood in silence, as you both refused to make eye contact. Finally, you spoke up. "Um, I have some ice for your bruises if you need some."
Finney nodded and softly smiled. "That'd be nice." You head into the kitchen and grab an ice pack and wrap it up in a paper towel. You walk back over to Finney and hand him the ice pack to which he happily accepted.
"Here, I'll walk you home." You offered, to which Finney happily accepted. The two of you walked outside into the cold, crispy air and made your guy's way down the cracked sidewalk to Finney's house, which was just right next door.
You and Finney walked up to the front door. With a small click, Finney opened the door and turned to you. He held the ice pack to his face and gave you a smile.
"Thank you for standing up for me today." He spoke, sending you a thankful look. You smiled.
"Of course I'd do anything to protect you."
Finney quickly leans in and places a small kiss on your cheek. "Bye Y/n!" He spoke quickly before running inside his house.
You stood there, shocked. After a few seconds, you raise your hand to the spot where he kissed you as a smile graced your lips.
