Positive Body Image

I drew something tonight that I really liked.

It's of me just sitting down in the outfit I was wearing at the time. I like it because I welcomed my body type into it without judgement. Which, is something I'm really good at doing.

I love my body, honestly. It carries me, and takes care of me. With my body, I'm capable of doing the things I love. There's nothing to dislike about it.

I hear people say I shouldn't wear some of the things that I do with my body type. The idea that clothes can be restricted to certain body types is ridiculous, though. Don't you agree?

I've been called fat so many times in my life it's appalling. Like, you think I don't know? You think I care? I have a million other things on my plate and I've woken up in this body everyday for 16 years. I promise you, it's not offensive when people call me fat.

It's a fact that I'm fat, and I see it as internalized fat phobia when people respond with "you're not fat!" when I very obviously am. Why do you speak of it like a bad thing?

I have a pet peeve of other people complaining about their body weight in front of me. I'm tired of the idea that you can only be beautiful if you're skinny.

I'm beautiful and I'm fat. Both of those statements are factual, and plenty of people would agree that I'm beautiful, so why can't you acknowledge the strength in my body weight, too?

Ideally, I'd like to live in a world where everyone loves themselves for who they are rather than who they could be. Skinny, fat, chubby, whichever one you are, I promise that you're beautiful.

There's beauty in everyone and it's typically the type of beauty that they don't see.

"You're so busy being you that you have no idea how utterly unprecedented you are" (The Fault in our Stars).

This quote is exactly how I feel about every single person on this earth. I promise you, if I've ever seen you in person, I've admired you in some way or another. Because, beauty lies in difference. I adore variety more than conformity. Anyone worth your time will feel the same, too.

Much love. ❤️
