Hiccup and the rest of Berk was busy packing away as quickly and efficiently as they could, being worried Grimmel could return at any moment. Hiccup though was having some trouble in his own home. Packing up books and decorations that made his house a home. A home with memories, full of love and everything he held dear. This of course made him miss his father more and more, looking through drawn sketches of him and Stoick. A single tear falling from his face while he looks at them next to the open fire. Placing each book into crates and boxes the door opened behind him, he quickly brushed off his eyes and looked over to see his mother. H "Oh, hey mom..what brings you by?" Valka chuckled shaking her head. V "Son I live here too." They both laughed as Valka sat with Hiccup looking at the books in the crates. V "Are you excited son?" Hiccup nodded giving her a soft smile before clearing his throat. "Just lots of memories in this house. My dad and I, with Toothless and now with you." Valka smiled and looked around at the basically empty house. V "I had a lot of memories with your father here as well.Mostly just in Berk." Hiccup turned to her and smiled. H "What kind of memories?" V "Well theres a lot but my favorite memory was actually our first date."
Valka begins to tell her memory to Hiccup.
Valka and Stoick were around 17-18 years old in Berk. Stoick was very busy as a teenager, Valka was more of a loner and craved adventure. Stoick would usually be with his father learning the ropes of being Cheif or training himself for combat. One day Valka decided to sneak out of her house and go down to the river bed behind Berk. She woke up before dawn tip-toeing down the steps not to wake her parents. Once she successfuly made it outside she begain to run. Sprinting her way through the forest having the time of her life. Feeling free, no walls to hold her in just being out in nature and hair blowing in the wind. She was going to her usual spot near the river to look for stones or pick flowers. As she approched the river she smiled looking at deer prancing their way over the water. As she continued along she began to hear banging on trees near by. Valka was a little worried but went towards the sound to investigate. Reaching an opening she saw Stoick throwing his axe at the trees, assuming it was target practice Valka decided to leave him be. Stepping backwards she snapped a twig making Stoick look over at her. S "Oh, uh goodmorning. Valka isn't it?" Valka chuckled and nodded before speaking. V "I didn't mean to disrupt your practice I just heard something, I'll leave you too it." Stoick put his axe down and walked ove to her. "If you'd like you can join me, it gets pretty boring all alone." V "Oh.. no no thats okay I'm not very good at axe throwing." Stoick thought for a moment but caught himself just staring at her. V "Um, Stoick are you alright?" Stoick looked down and cleared his throat. S "Yes sorry, let me teach you it could be fun." Valka wasn't sure about it but she did need to brush up on her skills, and who better to teach her than the current heir to Berk. V "Maybe for just a little bit." They exchanged smiles and walked back over to where Stoick was practicing.
S "Show me what you can do." Valka sighed and looked at the large axe picking it up, putting it in the air trying to aim at the tree. She threw it but didn't reach the tree and clattered onto the dirt. Valka chuckled nervously. V "See i told you." S "Ah nonsense, you just gotta learn." Stoick walked over picking up the axe handing it to Valka and stepping behind her. He gently wrapped his arms around and grabbed her hand helping her get the correct placement on the axe. S "Put your hands here so you can balance the weight." Valka froze for a moment and felt charmed, Stoick was a buff and tough looking viking but he was very gentle and kind. For a moment she felt smittened by the gentle vickings embrace. Stoick then helped her lift it into the air and aim. "Don't hold it to high or you might lose your balance, hold it where it feels most comfortable and where you can get good leverage to throw. Valka nodded and together they both swung the axe at the tree making it stick perfectly. Stoick backed away from her and smiled at her scratching his neck. S "See nothing to it, you'll be a pro in no time. Say what are you doing out this early now that I'm thinking about it." V "Oh I just like to come out and enjoy nature, you know pick flowers, watch wildlife." Stoick nodded and looked around seeing a group of flowers, he walked over picking a stem of buebells and placing it in Vlakas hair while holding her chin softly and admiring her beauty. Valked smiled and looked at the ground while Stoick brushed a few stray hairs out of her face. The two were obviously very attracted to one another. Stoick cleared his throat before talking. S "You should come practice with me more. Maybe like tommorow?" V "Did you just ask me on a date?" Stoick gave a small laugh and nodded slightly embarrased. S "I guess I did." V "Sounds good..It's a date."
